She smiled again and followed Nicholas Croft's lead, saying, "Although I was very angry before when she took you away from me, she is, after all, my sister. Blood is thicker than water, and even though the mistake was huge, she's dead now, what else can I hold onto?"
"Really?" Nicholas Croft looked up once more, his two words indifferent, staring at Hannah Hargrave, his gaze seeming to pierce through her.
Averting Nicholas Croft's gaze, Hannah Hargrave lowered her eyes and smiled, and when she looked up again, her eyes were clear with sincerity, "Enough of that, today is the day we reunite as husband and wife, let's not talk about unhappy things."
Seeing Hannah Hargrave's enthusiastic demeanor, Nicholas Croft glanced at her raised wine glass, then picked up his own to clink with hers, and Hannah Hargrave boldly downed her glass in one go. Nicholas Croft's lips curved slightly with amusement, and he tilted his head back to finish his glass of red wine.
