A little farce ended with Song Ci's so-called forgiveness. She knew when to stop, and finally, as if nothing had happened, she offered a poem to express her apology.
"Naturally, as everyone knows, I am just a farmer's wife, and it's a great fortune to know a few words and understand some principles. Writing poetry is beyond me," Song Ci said with a smile. "This poem I recite was created by a great master whom I came across by chance in my youth. I thought it was lovely, so I memorized it. I see it hasn't been revealed to the world, so shall I promote it on behalf of that master?"
Commandery Princess Shou Ning smiled and said, "Madam, may I write it down for you?"
Song Ci nodded with a smile, "Then I'll trouble the Commandery Princess."
Commandery Princess Shou Ning then took the rice paper and ink from the table, rolled up a sleeve, and looked at Song Ci.
Song Ci beamed, looking outside the warm pavilion. Coincidentally, it started snowing again.
