Shi Jiaojiao quickly went to her room, grabbed her bag, and hurried downstairs.
She picked up her phone, running towards the garage while dialing a number.
But the call went unanswered from the other side, she didn't give up, kept dialing, again and again.
...
At Yao Ziwan's place, Yao Shuyan was sitting on the sofa, looking at the vibrating phone in his hand and the name flashing on the screen, he smiled helplessly.
Yao Ziwan brought a cup of tea over and asked, "Why don't you answer?"
"Answer? And then what? Go and help her save her mother? I definitely don't want to offend Shi Yuanbo, let alone offend Song Yansheng!"
Yao Ziwan's thin lips moved slightly, saying, "But... but she is your fiancée after all, her mother being arrested is surely not going to leave her in good spirits, you should at least offer some comfort!"
Yao Shuyan wanted to say that his so-called engagement with Shi Jiaojiao was just a transaction, neither had any obligation to do anything for the other.
