Ignatius Leclair's gaze shifted to the father and son inside the study. His deep, enigmatic eyes lingered on Joseph Lloyd for a few seconds. His expression was stern, and his voice resumed its usual low, indifferent tone: "Uncle Joseph, I told you years ago that I hoped that would be the last time we met."
Mr. Lloyd hurriedly stood up, looking at the once-handsome youth who had now grown tall and steady. Due to his agitation, he began to cough violently, prompting the young man beside him to frantically soothe him.
"Ignatius, Uncle just wanted to see you one last time." The refined Mr. Lloyd coughed until his eyes were red, pausing momentarily to turn toward Delphine. With a trembling voice, he said, "Is this your wife? If your mother knew, she would surely be very happy."
Ignatius Leclair nodded slightly and said in a deep voice, "When I went to honor my mother during Qingming and Winter Solstice, I mentioned it to her. She was very pleased."
