Crystal Landon looked at him nervously. The man stood there, even though the lights were on inside, a strange dimness seemed to envelop Richard Shaw.
The man was like a black hole, swallowing everything around him, exuding a faint sense of danger.
Richard Shaw frowned slightly and said steadily and calmly, "There is no emotional foundation between us. If we marry, I can only give you the position of Major General's wife, offer you all the honor I possess, everything of the Shaw Family, but I can't give you love. So, are you still willing to marry me?"
The man looked directly into her eyes the whole time he spoke, his gaze deep, his pupils slightly tea-colored, somewhat unfathomable.
Crystal Landon's big black eyes slightly opened, stunned for a moment, then asked, "Did grandmother ask you to marry me?"
Richard Shaw responded indifferently, feeling there were some things that needed to be clarified with her. He could give her everything, except for love.
