Leah slightly lowered her eyes, avoiding his touch, and took a sip of milk to hide her feelings. In the quiet deep night, neither of them spoke, sitting silently for a while until the milk in the cup gradually cooled.
Richard Shaw turned on the heating, making the room comfortably warm.
Leah placed her foot on the blanket, her long eyelashes drooping down. She had countless questions she wanted to ask him, feeling that over the years, she hadn't completely understood Richard Shaw. What she had seen all along was what he wanted to show her.
"Will you be very busy when you return to the Military District?" Leah looked at him, still reading documents late at night, and asked lightly.
