Delphine was a thoroughbred Southerner; the moment she hit the North, she almost got frozen into a popsicle. Leah had grown up in the Imperial City, but over in the Golden Triangle there was basically no such thing as winter, and her body had gotten pretty pampered these past few years too. So the two of them were shivering like quails, and when they saw how the other was hunched up and shrinking into her coat, they both burst out laughing.
"I booked us on a tour—skiing, hot springs, ice sculpture exhibition, then we go eat Northeast cuisine and sleep on a local heated brick bed." Delphine was wrapped head to toe in a fluffy down jacket and hat, only a delicate, pretty little face showing. She grinned as she spoke.
Once they were on the road, Leah just did whatever Delphine said. When it came to traveling, little Delphine was the expert.
