Early the next morning, before dawn, Thomas Fisher drove away from home to replace Easton Holmes, who was keeping vigil at the hospital. As he arrived at the hospital entrance, he saw Alice Turner getting out of a taxi.
Beep beep beep!
Thomas Fisher honked the horn to signal Alice Turner, then parked the car steadily beside her.
Hearing the honking, Alice Turner instinctively looked over in the direction of the sound. Thomas Fisher's car came into her view unexpectedly. She was momentarily stunned but quickly regained her composure, walking over to stand in front of the car.
"You already know?" she asked, looking down at him in the car.
"Get in the car first."
Thomas Fisher did not answer Alice Turner's question but asked her to get into the car from outside.
She didn't wait for his answer. Since he was already here, he surely knew. Her questions were unnecessary, so she walked over to the front passenger side and got in.
