Alice Turner didn't get a chance to utter a single word of refusal before Thomas Fisher had already hung up the phone. Just as she was about to call him back, she suddenly changed her mind.
She felt it would be better not to waste time on a phone call. While he wasn't here yet, she decided to finish her work quickly.
Originally, it would take more than forty minutes to arrive, but Thomas Fisher arrived in just over twenty minutes and parked downstairs at Alice Turner's company. He immediately took out his phone and dialed her number.
"You're here?" This time, Alice Turner answered the call quickly and casually asked.
"Come down."
Thomas Fisher's response was simple but sufficient to indicate his current situation.
While packing her things, Alice Turner responded to the person on the other end, "I'll be right down."
After replying, she hung up the phone, picked up her purse, and left her office.
