Easton Holmes showed no trace of panic or worry about being found out after lying, his expression calm and demeanor composed. He even curled his lips into a playful smile: "When your brother comes back later, I'll tell him you were the one who told me to say it."
Seeing her worried little expression, he couldn't resist teasing her a bit.
"You..." Lily Turner barely got out the word 'you' before she stopped, then suddenly leaned closer to Easton Holmes, beaming up at him, "Do you think my brother will believe it? How about we make a bet?"
She knew he was teasing her, how could she not? But she wanted to use this as an opportunity to make a bet with him; after all, they had some time to kill, so why not have some fun together?
As his wife's playful spirit came alive, Easton Holmes was instantly infected by it, "What's the wager?"
He stared at her unblinkingly, waiting for her to give him an answer.
