Emotionally Focused Therapy, abbreviated as EFT, is a psychological therapy method centered on emotions. Its core logic is that emotions are not the "by-products" of problems but the "key resources" for solving them.
Therapists practicing Emotionally Focused Therapy believe that the root of psychological distress often lies in the core emotions such as Fear, resentment, and guilt being repressed, denied, or distorted, leading to self-fragmentation and imbalanced interpersonal relationships. Therefore, the goal of psychological therapy is not to "eliminate negative emotions" but to help individuals perceive, accept, and transform emotions, allowing them to become a bridge connecting the Self and mending relationships.
