Night came along rather quickly where Arabella joined her husband at his carving desk. She then proceeded to smoosh her body against his as if demanding attention without a word.
"You haven't given up, have you?" he took a deep breath and stopped his doings.
"Well, if I was the type to just give up, I would not be standing here with you," her hands locked on his hair as a target, softly ruffling and playing with it.
"I really can wait a while longer," he said, eyes still on the piece of wood in hand.
"But I don't think I can," she whispered.
The sweetness of her timbre mellowed him further. The vampire dropped the wood and the tool upon the desk and swayed his body enough for her to sit comfortably on his lap.
And sit she did, right between him and his desk, effectively hogging all of his attention while staring into his diamonds.
For a good moment, they said and did nothing but observe each other's traits, allowing their warm breaths to intertwine.
