Chapter 325 - Chapter 325: Battle — So Refreshing!

Lin Yun nodded slightly toward Bi Ji. "I'll leave it to you then. I trust you can handle the arrangements."

Among all the soul beasts in the Star Dou Great Forest, Bi Ji might not be the strongest, but she was undoubtedly the most respected.

Many soul beasts might have never seen Di Tian in person, but almost all of them had seen Bi Ji. She and her Emerald Swan clan had saved countless soul beasts. To the soul beasts of the forest, she was the most revered of the Fierce Beast kings — a symbol of life and compassion.

The saying "offend anyone but the healer" held true even among soul beasts.

If Di Tian governed the Star Dou Great Forest with power and dominance, then Bi Ji was without question his perfect counterpart — where he represented might, she embodied mercy.

Having Bi Ji accompany Lin Yun in his sparring against the hundred-thousand-year soul beasts was indeed the ideal choice. She could ensure that those beasts gave their all in combat, without holding back for fear of injury, knowing that if they were hurt, Bi Ji would heal them before any human soul master or rival creature could take advantage.

Lin Yun and Bi Ji then began discussing which soul beasts to start with, while Di Tian silently nodded in approval before fading back into the shadows of the forest.

"Lord," Bi Ji asked, "what type of soul beast do you plan to start with?"

"Strength-type," Lin Yun replied without hesitation. "Don't pick a race that's too strong. I'll start with my best combat style — pure physical battle — and then move on to other types later."

That had been his plan all along: first to fully master and refine the brutal physical power of the Golden Dragon King's body, and only afterward to expand into techniques and skills.

Bi Ji closed her eyes for a moment, mentally searching through the soul beasts of the forest before deciding on a target.

"Then, Lord," she asked, "shall we begin now?"

"Immediately," Lin Yun said, flexing his hands. "I've rested enough. Time to get to real work."

"My first opponent… is this guy?" Lin Yun stood atop a mountain ridge, gazing down at a massive earth-yellow bear sprawled lazily at the base. His eyebrows arched with curiosity.

Standing behind him, Bi Ji replied, "Yes, Lord. That is a hundred-thousand-year Great Strength Vajra Bear, an earth-attribute soul beast. It excels in both strength and defense. Its species isn't particularly rare or supreme, making it an ideal training partner for you."

"Great Strength Vajra Bear, huh? That's a pretty familiar name. All right, it'll do."

After Lin Yun nodded, Bi Ji descended the slope to communicate with the bear.

From Lin Yun's perspective, the enormous bear, awakened by Bi Ji's voice, immediately dropped into a deep bow. Whatever she said afterward, it nodded fervently — again and again — without a moment's hesitation.

Clearly, it knew how to read the situation.

Maybe Bi Ji had even saved it once before? Lin Yun didn't know, but her negotiation was clearly effective. Within moments, the massive bear followed obediently behind her, padding up the hill to meet Lin Yun.

For the next half month, Lin Yun sparred against that Great Strength Vajra Bear.

He had a rough idea of its abilities — after all, in the Douluo Dalu I era, Zhao Wuji's Martial Soul was the Great Strength Vajra Bear. Its skills revolved around earth defense and gravity control, similar in some ways to the Titan Giant Ape.

Zhao Wuji, in his Martial Soul True Body form, could even go a few rounds against Er Ming the Titan Giant Ape — though he'd get crushed in the end. Still, that alone proved that the Great Strength Vajra Bear wasn't weak.

At the beginning of their battle, there was a small accident — Lin Yun had released his Martial Soul without suppressing his dragon might, and the overwhelming pressure of the Golden Dragon King nearly scared the bear into burrowing underground.

Its fighting spirit vanished instantly.

That was not the kind of battle Lin Yun wanted. What he wanted was a full, exhilarating fight!

From then on, he restrained his dragon aura during combat. After two or three days, the Great Strength Vajra Bear gradually recovered from its trauma and started fighting normally again.

Until today — fifteen days later.

"ROAR!"

The Great Strength Vajra Bear let out a deafening roar, raising its enormous claws high and slamming them into the ground. A visible shockwave erupted outward, spreading rapidly. Wherever it passed, dirt, dust, and even plants were violently crushed flat, as though by immense pressure.

Gravity Domain — Hundred-Thousand-Year Version!

When the expanding force reached Lin Yun, golden light flared from his body despite the absence of soul rings. Phantom-like dragon scales shimmered across his skin.

Golden Dragon Tyrant Body!

Having fully adapted from his previous deep meditation, Lin Yun could now unleash his soul skills without relying on rings — as he was doing now.

The Golden Dragon Tyrant Body neutralized the crushing gravity field completely. Lin Yun didn't use any other abilities; instead, he clenched his dragon fists and charged straight at the bear for a pure test of strength — a clash between men, or rather, beasts.

When dragon claws and bear claws collided, thunderous booms erupted one after another. Because of the gravity field, Lin Yun's body had become even heavier, each punch carrying the force of mountains — every blow forcing the bear back step by step.

"Battle—feels amazing!!!"

Lin Yun roared, the blood-core within his body pulsing violently. His heartbeat thundered like war drums; his blood surged like a tidal wave. His right arm tensed, muscles coiling with explosive strength.

With a stomp that shattered the hardened earth beneath him, Lin Yun shot forward like golden lightning. His right fist, pulled back like a drawn bow, slammed straight into the bear's chest.

The already-staggering bear had no time to counterattack—it could only cross its massive arms in defense.

BOOM!

CRACK!

The impact echoed like a drum of war. The bear's body was sent flying backward, crashing into the ground with a resounding thud. As it fell, a sharp cracking sound came from its forearms—the bones had fractured under the blow.

The Gravity Domain dispersed instantly. Lin Yun exhaled, panting lightly, sweat beading on his forehead as a satisfied smile curved his lips.

This bear had given him plenty of trouble over the past month. Aside from the first few days—when the dragon aura had scared it senseless—he had spent nearly half the time being overpowered in melee combat.

When Lin Yun realized he couldn't win in pure hand-to-hand combat, the bear began using its innate abilities as well, forcing him into even tighter corners.

For nearly ten straight days, Lin Yun was pummeled repeatedly. He wasn't defeated, but he couldn't win either. It had been incredibly frustrating.

But since he'd promised himself to train his close-combat skills, he never used other powers to give himself an edge. That would've defeated the purpose of the training.

Still—finally, finally, he'd won!
