Chapter 50 - Chapter 50:

In the Kingdom of Nasca, the heavy oak doors of the throne room remained shut as a high-stakes diplomatic meeting reached its boiling point. Inside, King Gustav sat on his throne, facing two men who represented the most powerful neighboring nations.

The situation is simple, King Gustav, the first diplomat said, leaning back with a smug expression. We offer a solution to protect The Kingdom of Nasca. We will station our armies within your borders to protect the Nasca Kingdom from other kingdoms and even monsters, maintaining peace for you and your people. In exchange, we only ask for 80 percent of your newly found ores from your mines as resources. This is a fair deal, right, King Nasca?.

The diplomats sat in silence, fully expecting Gustav to agree. In their minds, this was the only logical choice for a king who understood reality of how the world works. To them, Nasca was a small, weak nation that should be grateful for the mercy of being colonized under the guise of protection.

Shockingly, King Gustav looked at them with a calm, unwavering gaze. I disagree. I can take care of my nation by myself, dear diplomats.

The two diplomats froze. Shock quickly turned into a burning anger. How dare he? they thought. Does this king not know that the weak have no rights in this world? Does he not realize that refusing us will lead to war?

Stifling their rage, they spoke in a cold, measured voice. King Gustav, are you sure you are saying no to this alliance? After all, this might be the only thing that protects your nation from total destruction from other nations.

I am saying no, King Gustav replied firmly. So, if you please, you can leave after having the lunch together. After all, I cannot forget my etiquette practice of sending diplomats away hungry, can I?

The two men stood up abruptly, their faces twisted in fury. We are not hungry! they snapped. They stormed out of the room, their boots clattering loudly against the stone floors. As they exited the castle, they hissed to each other, That lowly, pathetic Gustav... how dare he reject us? Our Kings will show him. We will destroy this nation, and take all the stuff as well, our soldiers and nobles will enjoy the goods and women from this nation.

While the political storm brewed outside, a literal hell was unfolding within a private dimension. Origin had created a time barrier where the flow of time was drastically slowed-three months inside was merely a single day on the outside. He had modelled it after the idea of a Hyperbolic Time Chamber from the Dragon Ball anime.

Inside, the gravity was dialed up to an agonizing level, making the very air feel like mountains on his back. Rudra was gasping for breath, his body trembling under the weight.

Get up, Origin commanded.

He was putting Rudra through a brutal sword training. Origin didn't hold back, he moved with blinding speed, beating Rudra until his bones cracked and his body gave out. Then, using one of the many sub-skills granted by his God-Level Ultimate Skill, Origin would heal Rudra's broken body instantly to the peak condition—only to beat him again.

Origin knew that in the future, Veldanava would put Rudra through this exact type of torture. It was the only way to forge the reflexes required for Castle Guard, the absolute defense where in the future he could turn it on and off in milliseconds. By forcing Rudra to experience near-death countless times, his body instincts and mind would eventually learn to block and attack in milliseconds.

The beating continued. Rudra was forced to the edge of death time and time again, but at the last second, he always came back. The progress was rapid. Out of pure desperation to avoid the recurring agony, Rudra began to block attacks. Eventually, he even managed to strike back. He had no choice; if he failed, he had to relive the same near-death experience he had grown to loathe.

Elsewhere, in the castle library, Lucia and Veldanava sat in a quiet corner.

Since you want a hero to protect humanity, Lucia asked softly, isn't Mister Origin perfect? He is the Silver King, after all. Rudra and I heard so many legends and stories about him from a young age.

Veldanava looked at her, his expression serious. Origin may have been like that once, Lucia. But that was when he was young, just practicing his ideals. Now, he is different. He will only care for those he likes or cares about. I can read his heart he will not attack humanity, but he will not protect it either. As long as humans are not extinct, he will not care. That is why I am selecting Rudra.

Veldanava continued, Origin himself knows he is not suitable, plus he is not fully human. It wouldn't make sense for him to protect humanity most of the time, that's why both I and He agreed to choose Rudra.

Lucia nodded, understanding his reasoning. She didn't know that Veldanava was actually covering for the truth. Origin planned to leave this universe once he had learned all he could, returning to the Marvel verse where he originally belonged. Veldanava used the excuse of Origin's indifference to hide the fact that he was eventually leaving.

So don't worry, Miss Lucia, Veldanava said. Your elder brother Rudra will be perfect for the title of True Chosen Hero.

I know, Lucia smiled. My brother is the best. He is excited and a little childish, but in important matters, he is very serious.

After months of "torture", oh no, "practice" inside the time barrier, it was finally dinner time. Rudra was sitting on the ground, greedily devouring the food Origin had prepared.

Origin, what is this food? It's so tasty! Rudra asked between bites.

It's a magicule-infused steak made from an Armored Boar, Origin replied. It provides high energy to help you recover and prepares your body for evolution. As he then said while smiling. Besides, everyone deserves a happy meal after hard training.

Rudra smiled. Thanks, Origin!

Don't be too happy, Origin said with a smirk. You have to take this training until you become an Enlightened. Then I'll transfer you to Mister Veldanava for his part of the training. Be prepared—his version is even more torturous.

Rudra froze. Please don't say that, Origin. I'm already regretting agreeing to this.

Origin laughed and handed him a dessert, a Black Forest cake. Rudra took a bite, and his taste buds were hit with a sweet flavour he had never experienced. What is this?

It's a cake, a sweet dish. Do you like it?

Rudra nodded vigorously.

Of course you do, Origin said. Even Guy liked it when he ate it for the first time.

Rudra looked up in surprise. Is that true? Did that Demon Lord really like the cake? What if I spread the news that the terrifying Demon Lord likes sweet cake like a child?

Origin's expression turned serious. You would be killed by him in the most gruesome way possible. He would destroy your soul and torture it for eternity. So... don't do that.

Rudra swallowed hard and went back to his cake. As Origin thought this might scare him.
