Actually, scratch that—Calvin really was thinking exactly that.
The door clicked shut from the outside, leaving only Camilla and Tiffany in the hospital room.
Tiffany took in her best friend's teasing, radiant smile and, cheeks flushing, decided to take the initiative.
"Camilla, ask whatever you want," she said, her voice warm but slightly sheepish.
"I promise, no secrets—I'll tell you everything."
She was clearly bracing herself for the interrogation.
After all, she'd once sworn up and down to Camilla that she'd never end up with Calvin.
And now, not long after, here they were—proof that she'd been dead wrong.
"There is something I want to ask," Camilla admitted, settling onto the edge of the bed. Gently, she took Tiffany's bandaged hand in hers, her eyes shadowed with guilt and concern.
