Micah adjusted his grip with visible effort as he continued dragging Clyde's considerable weight down the staircase that led toward the lower level of the establishment. The alternative route had been suggested by the young man walking beside him, a quieter passage typically reserved for individuals who preferred to avoid unnecessary attention.
"This way is usually kept for well-known guests," the young man explained in a light, pleasant tone as he guided Micah along the corridor. "People who do not wish to be recognised too easily. It is more convenient."
He paused briefly before adding, with a small, almost shy smile, "By the way, my name is Yao Tianming. 'Yao' as in dazzle, and 'Tianming' meaning heavenly brightness."
Micah, though preoccupied with the weight leaning heavily against his shoulder, could not help but glance at him from the corner of his eye.
Yao Tianming. Even his name sounded… beautiful.
