Chapter 5 - Chapter 5--( Mysterious Theodore)

Baran looked around the room, feeling the energy of it all, the place of things. He ignored his mumbling brother but the scientists catch his attention. Offcourse it was all only natural. He'd always been stunning.

They can't help but glare at such a rare beauty of a man. And did he really just jump?

Thid is the second highest floor of a 500 story building. Unreal.

If only they knew how twisted he was. A lunatic. Yet, a very pristine one.

He turned to the captain in a guilty smile. Guile had stoic expressions plastered on his visage. Baran approached his Captain, ready to be scolded for being late.

" What took you so long?", Guile asked. He spoke but his eyes didn't move an inch. All his sight was on Theo.

Baran took a seat beside Guile and he turned to the glass barricade. His attention is undivided from the fiend also. He had that sickening smirk on his face. A smirk that says I've done something wrong.

" A girl. "

Guile lets out a tired breath. If there was anyone as heroic as they were twisted, it had to be Baran. He massages his temples and touches the observing glass with his left index finger, pointing at Theo.

" That's your brother?"

Baran hesitated to answer. It had been so long since he saw his brother and he looks just like he remembers him. The same in every way. That same pathetic look. The weakling shouldn't even be breathing.

This new form. The sentinel couldn't see it. He didn't see a fiend. All he saw was his pathetic brother.

" Yes ", he replied in a stressed voice.

" How come you don't speak of him "..

Baran gave a dramatic groan and rested his chin on his palms still staring at his sleeping brother. " If you had an older brother who was a D rank would you speak of him ", Baran shifted in his sit. His earlier violent excitement was now just a detached aloofness, " Besides. He's disowned ".

The Captain's eyes turned a grave gaze. " Well he's not a D rank anymore. He's killed 5 people and almost made a sentinel the sixth ".

Baran took some time to reply, he may have been a slave to impulse but it wasn't always. He was very careful with his family. Clearly his brother causes more harm alive than dead. All those days when they were just kids and Father forced them to train, he could never harm Theo.

' He'd scream when I burnt him but he always regenerated. I'm strong enough to burn him down to his very atoms. Let's see him regenerate from that '. The scorchers fist clenched so fiercely they caused a snapping sound. His own knuckles cracking.

" I could kill him if you want ". Baran said. Eyes in a murderous glare. Guile knew he was not bluffing. But Forsooth, he was lying.

" No, he's US property now ".

Baran didn't even register it. He couldn't take his eyes of his brother, off of Theodore. He lookslike he's minutes away from attacking him.

" So can you explain it?", the captain asks while putting two more lollipops in his mouth.

" Explain what ".

" Why your older brother is a Fiend ". Guile's voice grew serious and deeper that it almost had an echo.

" No idea ". Baran said swinging his head right to left.

Captain Guile stayed quiet staring at Baran clearly wanting answers.

" I don't even know him personally. The last time I saw him I was 8 and he...," Barans face moved upwards then right to left.

" I don't know he was 11 or 12". His face was stained with disgust as the words left his lips and the memories entered his mind.

" He was always a disgrace. I'm surprised Father let him live. ".

The killing intent in the air had already rendered some of the scientists unconscious. The red archaic energy caused the room to get hotter. Baran was insistently tapping at the table trying to keep himself from attacking his brother.

" Look what you did ".

The anger drifted away when he heard his captain's voice. His attention shifted to the unconscious bodies on the floor. " Hehe ", he smiled sheepishly, " My bad ".

Captain Guile eyed him. A long suffering withering gaze. " Everytime ". He huffed.

" Do your parents know anything about this. That their disowned son is a fiend "

" They don't talk about him ", Baran said in a low hoarse voice.

Guile was silent. Then " arghhh "....." Fuuuuuuck ", he groaned. No one was giving answers. Not the scientists, not Baran and certainly not the Voaabisinian family.

He spinned in his chair one last time. " Offcourse they don't_"

LISTEN TO ME

Both their attentions snapped to Theodore. Fiendish tongues. Words spoken, none that we understood. But within them was the meaning of will. Was Archaic energy. Theodore Vaughn Gunes was speaking the language of the fiends.

Fikeer ( the complex language that only high class Fiends communicate in and frankly it creeps everyone out. Each word and sound itself is raw Archaic energy spoken by the tongue. You could say they speak Archaic energy.....it's why most humans faint on hearing the language directly )

Right now if they ranked this Theo kid he'd be a Titan class. Not because he was a threat. But this kid or whatever he was had more Archaic energy than Baran.

And Baran knew it. He would have loved it if his brother had always been this powerful. But now he's a fiend. Even more pathetic than he ever was.

" None of these guys have answers ", Guile said referring to the scientists. He stood up, hands in pocket, lollipop in mouth. " How long has he been mumbling ".

" About two days ", replies one of the scientists who was just regaining his consciousness.

" If we want answers we are going to have to ask this Fiend boy ourselves ".

" Great ", Baran said getting up, charged with his Flame dominion.

" No ". Guile licked his lollipop. " You stay here ". The captain asserted. No matter how much Baran tried to put off the air of anger and hate. It wouldn't fool him. Captain Guile was a very powerful telepath. A master whose senses and feel for arcane gave him the power to do extraordinary things. See far into the future and read minds just by staring at the shape of your archaic energy.

And though it got harder to do these things to someone like Baran who had mastered his own powers, it was still possible.

Guiles bare feet bounced smoothly off the floor and into the air, flying forward towards the glass. It's as if he was walking on nothing rather than propelling himself. Easily he phased through it..

" You seem more worried than mad Baran ".

Baran's smile faded momentarily. There was no way he still cared about his brother, was there? About a fiend. He looked away from his Captain and suddenly the ground became all too interesting. " Just do the test already ".

Guile smiled. A warmness to it. He descended down to the Vast white room. And as he lowered he could feel the Fiendish nature of what he was approaching.

A voice boomed from the speaker

" Sir we highly do not recommend you interact with the Fiend. We still don't know enough about it ", one of the scientists screamed into a speaker.

' Wasn't that the point ', Guile thought. He ignored the scientist and landed gracefully by Theodore's side, his pale small feet could feel the coldness of the concrete on which he stepped on. He'd carried out 4 fiend Human tests, and all ended with him killing the fiend.

Heroes never listen to reason, the scientist thought.

So the learned man thought it best to out his opinion into the speaker one more time___that is tiill he noticed.

The scorcher by his side.

Those deep seas glared with so much vivid anticipation. The scale of it was crippling no threats needed to be said.

' Speak again and ill fucking kill you '.

When Baran knew the man got the message he looked back to his Captain. He might have overdid the intimidation. But he could not help himself.

What happend here would decide how long his brother lives. And he wouldn't let anyone interrupt it.

The poor learned man was frozen up. He was like a statue who shivered from side to side sweating most of his body mass away. The others needed to help him up and take him out of the room. They themselves barely able to stay upright. Even though their jobs played well__no one prepares you to the constant exposure you have to these sentinels and to the heroes of humanity. At times even to Fiends. And while it's the sentinels responsibility to not endanger you or to overload your senses. Like stretching you thin past a breaking point just millimetres from the end of the rope. You couldn't expect them to not snap at times.

' Ah. I definitely over did that '.

Guile whistled to himself softly. It was a horrifying sight. His arcane was like crackling raging thunder in all encompassing endless rain. A desolation with no carnage. Just the grim cessation of life, flooding millions for it to be rebuilt all over again. He circled him. Step before step.

There was no doubt or any lack of certainty. What laid before Captain Guile was a Fiend

And what was its sin. If would not be the damned lives that were taken. But the people this avatar served. The Fiend creatures of the Abyssmal.

Small hands tapped the sleeping Fiends forehead.

" Wake up ".
