Chapter 52 - Chapter 52: Major Consequences

Catching the villains that were trying to flee was easy enough, Aizawa and the rest of the students managed to do that, although there were still a few that slipped away, they managed to get the rest.

"Alright, that should be all of them. Now we just have to wait for the rest of the heroes to show up."

Aizawa announced as he stood over a bunch of villains tied up using the steel ropes made by Momo. The hero's words brought relief to the students who immediately slumped onto the floor, letting out heavy and tired sighs.

"Holy crap! That was insane"

Kaminari was the first to speak, as he rested on his back on the floor, parts of his clothes looked to be burned, a sign that he had been using his quirk a lot, at high voltages too. So, the young lad was incredibly exhausted.

"Ditto that Kaminari, those guys were really here to kill us, weren't they?"

Toru echoed Kaminari's sentiment and asked the question rhetorically. However, her question brought silence to all the other students as if her words made them come to a realisation.

Although only two out of the twelve of them were hurt, the rest seemed to survive and were able to hold their own in the face of hardened villains but that did not change the fact that any of them could have been killed.

Aizawa let the silence linger for a long minute, letting the students come to their own conclusions about what happened and let them wonder if they were truly qualified for the job of being a hero.

He looked at their faces, while they did not look sad or depressed, he could see a solemnity and some hesitation on their faces, some were probably rethinking their decisions to be part of the hero course.

That was good in his opinion. This attack from the League of Villains should be a good learning experience. Although he didn't expect them to go through such a thing so early in their careers as heroes.

"I know this isn't the time for a lesson, but commit this to memory. This is what being a hero is. Villains are people who want to take your life for no reason other than the fact you are a hero. Your life is always on the line"

Once he decided the silence had lingered enough, he spoke. He explained to them that this incident is what they should expect as heroes and that he believed that this would serve as a good experience for them.

"Still though, isn't it a bit odd that the villains arrived exactly after we arrived here. It feels like they knew we were going to be here"

Momo was the first of the students to speak, choosing not to dwell on the message Aizawa wanted to impart, mostly because she felt she needed to think about that in her own private time.

"Yes, you're correct, Ms. Yaoyorozu. It is awfully convenient that they showed up here, I suspect they may have been watching us, or at least someone tipped them about our whereabouts"

Tenya Iida concurred with Momo's words and Aizawa could not help but let out an amused snort, he didn't expect them to be thinking about that, at least not right now after they survived a near death experience.

"Both of you are correct"

He decided to join in, and his words immediately caused the rest to look at him, in sudden surprise.

"That entire incident at Gym gamma was not just a malfunction but an attack by the villains…"

Aizawa then proceeded to explain the entire plan that led the villains here. Explaining to the students that the school hoped to lure the villains out and capture them, the USJ facility seemed like the optimal place for the plan.

"So you used us as bait?"

Taro asked, his words more curious than anything.

"Not exactly. It was more like showing the villains that their schemes were not working and the school was operating as usual."

He explained, however, Taro remained unconvinced.

"So in other words, bait."

He concluded, and Aizawa couldn't help but sigh in defeat, Taro was, in a sense, correct.

"Anyway regardless, the fact still remains, I'm the strongest in the class right now, and none of you can refuse that."

"What! Nobody agreed to that, you moron!!"

Bakugo was the first to object immediately to that.

"Nobody agreed, but nobody besides me held off that Nomu guy until All Might showed up. Could you do that, Bakugo? hmmm"

"Wait What!!"

The class exclaimed in unison as the news of Taro having fought one on one with the Nomu reaching their ears. That creature gave All Might a run for his money, yet here Taro was saying he fought it.

Their heads turned to Aizawa, looking at the hero for confirmation, and with a slight nod, he confirmed the young man was telling the truth.

"Holy shit Taro's that so awesome!"

"That's the manliest thing I've ever heard"

Both Kaminari and Eijro exclaimed, both young men were impressed and so were the rest of the class, with Bakugo grumbling something intelligible under his breath but no one heard as they began to praise Taro and the young man couldn't help but eat it up.

However, everyone praised Taro, cheering him on for his great feat of holding off the Nomu.

Momo was silent, her head looking down in silent contemplation. The questions of how the villains managed to hack into the UA system for the attack on gym gamma lingered on her mind.

She also couldn't help but think of how they knew the USJ facility was going to be used today. From what Aizawa had said, he didn't mention that the teachers purposely leaked information about the USJ trip to the villains in order to lure them out.

'The villains already had that information, and the heroes wanted to use it against them.'

That made sense to her. If the villains could hack into the system, then that means they could have gotten that information.

However, the only question now was, did the villains have that information before the gym gamma incident, or did they get it after?

She doubted the UA security system could be hacked so easily and from far away, so she figured the villains needed to be close, maybe even enter UA to be able to properly hack into its systems.

"Wait a minute…"

She remembered something, and her head turned to her brother. She could hear her brother selfishly eat up the praise, loving the attention and admiration. Momo found herself frowning deeply, This was all his fault.

She stepped forward, her head looking up as she took a stride towards her brother. Her eyes showed her displeasure and anger at him.

Her look of anger surprised the young Viltrumite. One would think after what he's done, she'd show more gratitude to her "onii-chan".

"You don't look happy. What's up?'

He asked her as she reached him and stopped just a foot away from him. He got no answer from her question.

Instead Momo quickly turned the electrocution glove on her hand on and then with a single word uttered and with the swiftness of a trained slap master, swung her hand in a fit of fury and it collided with her brother's face.

Her pathetic strength failed to generate enough force to harm him. However, the glove had enough electrocution power to do so, and thanks to that, she was able to deliver a mildly painful slap on Taro

Her sudden slap immediately silenced the entire group of students, who became shocked at her sudden action.

"Ow! what the fuck Momo?"

Taro protested at the sudden assault from her sister, the fact he felt that was less shocking than the fact she just slapped him.

As siblings the two have never been in a situation where they had to seriously start swinging at each other mostly because Taro couldn't bring himself to do so and Momo never believed she could hurt him even if she tried.

However at this moment, Momo was driven by nothing but anger at her brother, anger at the fact his recklessness put people's lives in danger.

"Don't you see this is all your fault! Why are you accepting their praise if you are the cause?!"

She shouted at him, further surprising him and their classmates.

"What the hell? I practically saved you and everyone here, without me All Might wouldn't have gotten here on time, How am I at fault?"

"You are at fault, These villains didn't just happened to be here, they knew we would be here, not only that but the villain with portals sent us to specific zones separating us, meaning he knew the overall layout of this facility"

Momo explained and everyone suddenly realised they were right, each of them were sent to different zones with different, sure it may have been random but the fact he knew there were different zones meant he knew about the USJ facility.

"And how would a villain know about this place when even the public doesn't know much about it? That's because they somehow received or happened to have sensitive information regarding this place?"

"How is that my fault"

Taro asked once more, still puzzled at how any of this could be his fault, he nearly broke his arms trying to hold off the Nomu. He doesn't deserve this, especially not from his own sister.

"They wouldn't have gotten that information if UA security didn't focus all its attention on the reporters that suddenly flooded the university, giving them the opportunity to sneak into the school, remember the reporters flooded the school because you decided you wanted to have fun!"

Momo concluded and quickly convinced everyone that this was indeed Taro's fault, if he didn't meddle with Hero work he wouldn't have been on the news and he wouldn't have attracted Reporters to the school and thus wouldn't have given the villain a chance to sneak in and steal sensitive information.

Aizawa couldn't find a flaw in Momo's reasoning. She didn't know if the villains really did sneak in to UA as that information was not shared with any of the students however she managed to figure that out based on the information available to her.

Taro on the other hand had nothing to say, he couldn't think of a rebuttal and a sense of shame and cringe crept into his heart, he was just recently basking in praise from his classmates despite all this being his fault.

The young man shrunk into himself as the guilt began to mount on his shoulders. A silence lingered amongst the students as Momo's words brought in a sense of tension that had been beginning to fade.

"Honestly Taro, what are you even doing here? you don't even want to be a hero, are you really just here so you can baby me?"

She asked and surprised the other half of her classmates that did not know, with Katsuki Bakugou feeling the most enraged by the news.

....

A/N: It seems like Taro fucked up.
