Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Reunion

Present day: Northern Alteria

***

Zeke stood Infront of a circular swirling portal. After 6 long years.. today he would see his family again.

He turned to look at the man who he had spent these last few years with one last time.

He had never met someone as annoying and heartless as Hector was in his entire life and yet...

He found him relatable in how curiousity seemed to bond the two.

Hector was always pleased to explore new concepts and activities.

He was however extremely determined to accomplish a certain goal that he always made sure to keep to himself.

It was this goal that made him stay in the Northern region longer than Zeke had.

And although he wanted to believe whatever Hector was doing in this deathtrap was for the best, he couldn't do that in good will.

He knew this man only helped him from the curiosity he had in studying his unique soul and was doing something immoral out here.

He seemed to have been satisfied with his studies and was just finishing his part of the bargain after 5 years of the total 6.

Zeke took one last good look at the cave he had resided all this time and began walking into the portal.

Just as he was almost fully across, Hector's voice rang from behind him.

"Zeke, I hope to see what you become now. Hahaha"

He knew whatever that meant was a bad premonition but kept walking till his frame disappeared in the portal.

After it closed, Hector was left all alone in the cold but the smile on his face had become way colder.

He stared at the sky before shouting out loud.

"I WILL.. SEE ALL THIS WORLD HAS TO OFFER, AND THEN REPLACE IT WITH MY OWN HAHAHAHA!!!"

...

Everheart kingdom

A 14 year old girl was at the back of the castle in the knight training grouunds attacking a training dummy with a katana.

She had raven black hair and blue cold eyes. Her complexion was as white as snow and she was 5'5 height wise.

She was the last born child of Darius Everheart and his only daughter. As the only known living Everheart at the moment, she was also the sole heir to the throne.

Her name was Nebula Everheart. She was regarded as the most fairest princess of all Alteria.

With such lucrative titles, a good family and a bright future, she should have been the most happiest child to ever live... However she wasn't.

"Beep, beep!"

A beeping sound was heard coming from her bracelet on her left hand.

She stopped swinging at the training dummy and lifted the bracelet to right Infront of her nose.

She tapped the bracelet once as a holographic screen appeared facing her.

On it was Darius, her father drinking a cup of tea in the upper living room. He put his cup down gently onto the cup holder before addressing her.

"Hello honey, how has training been going along?"

"Fine, ever since I became a Barron, I have felt my essence become easier to transfer from my soul to my body."

She had become a Barron dreamknight this year, which was quite fast considering she had been a dreamknight for only 5years.

She was proudly the second youngest Barron dreamknight of her generation. Her father seemed satisfied with the response.

"Don't work yourself out again ok.. your mother is extremely worried."

"I promise I wont."

He didn't believe those words but he couldn't really do anything. Ever since Zeke disappeared, she was always training as a coping mechanism.

She believed if she was there, she could have saved her older brother.

"Come back inside, were having lunch together."

"Fine." With that the call ended. She wanted to train more but knew how important spending time with her family really was.

"Slash!!"

With one final movement, she cut the dummy's head clean of.

Sliding her katana back into its sheath, she began walking back inside.

She was now on the first floor and took the elevator, ignoring all her mother's constant reminders to just use the stairs as exercise.

Inside she tapped the button for the fifth floor and waited as it moved upwards

After arriving she walked the long hallway to the living room and opened the door.

'If only he was joining us for dinner.'

As that thought came in mind, on the other side of the room a portal appeared as a person walked through.

Darius who was sipping tea with his eyes closed, snapped them open and stared at the portal ready to kill whoever came through it.

Anastasia also looked at the portal with the same intentions when tears flooded her eyes.

Nebula walked through the door and came face to face with her brother who she'd missed this entire time.

The only thing sepating them was the soon to be crossed distance and table between them.

Anastasia was the first to rush in and embrace her long lost child with tears flowing out.

Nebula stood frozen processing who was Infront of her. A cheeky smile appeared on his face as she was assured by the voice that came from his mouth that it was really him.

"I didn't miss lunch right?"

It took Zeke all the effort in the world to sound casual but crumbled the moment his mother's embrace reached him.

After all these years he was home. Nebula was next as she leaped over the table and joined the hug.

Darius carefully approached with disbelief in his heart. He may have thought it was a nightmare in his son's skin if not for those eyes that stood out.

He embraced the boy he thought he had failed, the child he believed to have let down, the one he wished to find for many years.

At that moment in his mind he swore to never fail his family again. He swore to protect his children and never fail his responsibility as a husband to keep his wife happy again.

Above all, he promised to destroy everything that would dare destroy his family again.
