Chapter 6 - Chapter 6

Prince Ezra

"I don't know why you wear that on your face," I sighed as I climbed under the blankets and laid down. My body instantly released the tension of the day as I melted into the mattress thankful that I came out of the event without losing my temper.

Thea sat down by a makeup vanity, thoroughly scrubbing off the makeup on her face revealing her pinker cheeks that she absolutely hated. I thought it made her beautiful. As if she was always blushing.

"Public appearance Ezra. Not all of us are born as handsome model-like Kommos men. Some of us have to put in the effort," she smiled back at me before peeling off her fake eyelashes.

"Why do you have those too? Why don't you put your sticky thing that makes it long?"

"It's called mascara and it's too tedious. These ones last longer," she explained as if I was a child.

"You have the longest, most beautiful eyelashes. I think it's stupid," I shrugged.

"You're intolerable," she rolled her eyes and put moisturizer onto her skin as well as lip balm. She walked over to the bed and took off her rope leaving her in her black lacy thigh high nightgown. As soon as she joined me under the covers, she cuddled to my side as I wrapped my arms around her. "Thank you for being on your best behavior today. Even if it was a little Rocky."

I chuckled and pressed a kiss to her forehead, "I'm a good boy. I just need someone to keep me calm."

"I know it meant a lot to Cloud."

I kept quiet at that and allowed the events of today to soak in. Tomorrow morning, by Clouds gentle yet forceful demand we would be flying back to Kommos with him. That meant that I couldn't suddenly have an appointment on the other side of the world to avoid it. As I had said before, it was impossible to say no to Cloud.

"Thinking about running away?" She giggled already reading my thoughts.

"Do you think if I suddenly had a bad case of food poisoning, Cloud would let it go?"

"He'll get you the best doctors to treat you on the jet," she snickered. She pressed a kiss to my bare chest, "don't you miss the days when you didn't have chest hair?"

"Nope, I'm all man now," I rubbed her back and instantly felt her relax. "Go to sleep now. We have a long day ahead of us."

"Of course my Prince," she teased. We shared a quick kiss before she closed her eyes and I followed suit. Everyday was exhausting but this one was worse than the last.

"I don't think you need to be more patient," he pressed a kiss on the shell of my ear, making a shiver run down my spine. "I think you're perfectly fine."

"Everyone seems to think otherwise," I turned my head to face him and marveled at how beautiful he looked under the moonlight. Did I look the same to him?"

"Not me," he smiled. The very smile that made all my worries disappear. The one that told me that everything would be fine in the world and that no matter what he would protect me. My Knight in shining armor. Technically my knight in Armani. "Why are you laughing?"

"A dumb joke I made in my head," I beamed and inched closer to give him a kiss. "I don't want to go home this week. I'm not ready to face that just yet."

His large hand took mine before interlocking our fingers. "Sometimes we have to do things we're afraid of Ez. When have you ever seen me afraid?"

I didn't want to answer that. The last time I looked into his eyes I saw the fear. The panic and dread. The image haunted me every day. "You're never afraid."

"My point exactly," he looked back up to the sky and I loved the stars. I swore I never saw them these days or had the time too. Not in the cities I was traveling to. But when I came here, to my favorite place on earth, stuck in this endless maze within the forest off the castle, it felt like I could see galaxies.

"Do this for me," he lifted my hand and pressed a kiss to the back of my palm. "Visit me this time. I miss you and your whiskey breath."

"I'll make sure to bring an extra bottle for you."

The moment my eyes opened it took me forever to realize where I was until I saw Thea's hair spread across my chest as she gently snored. The only woman who wasn't afraid to admit it.

I stretched out and grabbed my phone to check the time. We had to get ready soon to meet Cloud for breakfast. "Thea," I gently shook her and chuckled when she groaned and wrapped her thin arms around me. Holding me tightly. "Come on Princess. We have to leave soon."

"Leave me here. I'll meet you later," she whined. "My feet are killing me because of those heels."

"Very well," I chuckled. "I'll book an appointment for you to go to the spa whilst I'm at breakfast."

"You're too good for me," she beamed.

We untangled ourselves from each other and I gently tucked her back in before I headed for the bathroom.

'Visit me this time. I miss you'

The words kept on replaying on my head over and over again that it nearly felt like I was going crazy as I stood underneath the shower head. The hot scalding water running down my body as his voice haunted me.

Sleep was the only relief I had yet the morning felt like hell. The memories that all seemed to hit me at once left my lungs struggling for air and my eyes burning as I desperately tried to push away the emotions that clogged my throat.

'Visit me this time. I miss you.'
