The distant city noise seeped inside, invited by the silence filling the hotel room. Letting it guide him back to his senses, Dante gazed down at the palm of his right hand. His eyes readjusted, and the floor came within sight. The color red met him at every angle.

One couldn't describe the relief that voice brought him. He had deemed it annoying for a long time, yet it only took a few minutes for him to realize how invaluable it was. The same couldn't be said about the sound of hurried footsteps approaching his location, the presence of their owner included. Heaving a silent sigh, Dante turned around just as she arrived.
