Ancient Imperial Calendar Year 1808
It was spring 1808. The weather was slightly cloudy, and a light breeze coming from the sea heralded the arrival of summer.
The Port of Magusa was the favorite vacation spot of the Dynasties in the Eastern Lands, but after this war, these lands would become a place that held bitter memories of a bloody war.
Four years had passed since Ashbrum had massacred the Kislavein ambassadors and the war had begun.
The great battles that had started on the borders and led to hundreds of thousands of deaths, assassinations, espionage operations, and more had manifested themselves in the great war between the East and the West, but now both sides were determined to end this war, and like every great war on the continent, this war would come to an end.
The port of Magusa, located on the northern borders of the Eastern Lands, would witness the bloodiest battle in its short history.
IV Orsman led 2,950,000 Kislavein soldiers against 2,840,000 Ashbrum soldiers of XXI Carl, in what would go down in history as the bloodiest open field battle in history.
The Kislavein's most elite forces, the Bloodhawks under IV Orsman's direct command, were the most feared troops and only received orders from the Dynasty Lord.
The second in command of the center was the Blood Orphans under IV Orsman's great uncle, Fraud Kislavein.
The third in command was Krael Kislavein, the most powerful member of the Kislavein Dynasty after Orsman, who commanded the Blood Bastards battalion.
The right wing was commanded by Arrogan Kislavein.
His subordinates were Gustav Kislavein, son of Geovric (the embassy leader killed by the Ashbrums), and Dornas, brother of Julius Kislavein (who was also killed by the Ashbrums).
The left wing commander was Kervin Payrist, leader of the Payrist Dynasty.
His subordinates were Edward Rodwel and Tyrel Kislavein, sons of Herlman Rodwel and Talonis Kislavein, who were killed in the battle of Lazeric.
Kislavein's central army had 750,000 elite soldiers, while the left and right wings had 1,100,000 soldiers, equally divided.
The Ashbrum forces were similarly organized. The central army was led by Dynasty Lord XXI Carl, commanding 840,000 soldiers.
600,000 of these were the Golden Lions legion, from which the Ashbrum Dynasty Elite forces were formed. Carl's brothers, Malcolm Ashbrum and Weion Ashbrum, were his second-in-command.
On the right wing were Marco Ashbrum (who won the Lazeric war), his aide Brian Ashbrum, and Brian's cousin Hugochen Ashbrum, with one million soldiers.
On the left wing were three prominent figures of the Ashbrum Dynasty. In the center was the left wing commander, the Elder Mage Shengad Ashbrum, and his assistant commanders were Ojin Ashbrum and Ricao Ashbrum.
The two armies made their final preparations before the battle.
Prayers were recited, swords were sharpened, spells were prepared, and the battle began with the order of the Dynasty Lords.
First, the war of the mages began, as always. They cast various spells until their mana ran out.
Some threw meteor-sized rocks and fireballs onto their enemies, others darkened the air and rained blinding lightning down from the grave-like darkness onto the soldiers.
Ice mages froze the soldiers' bodies and caused them to disintegrate.
When the war of the mages ended, both armies had lost almost half of their forces.
Now it was the turn of the Warriors, the real owners of the battlefield.
IV Orsman led his horse forward, raised his giant sword, which was 6 meters long and 3 meters wide, looked at his soldiers, and shouted in a loud and powerful voice:
"BRAVE WARRIORS OF THE KISLAVEIN DYNASTY, CUT AND SLAUGHTER AS YOU WISH, SHOW THE ASHBRUMS HELL, AND ATTACK!"
Having received the order, the Kislavein warriors attacked with all their might, with great excitement and discipline, under the leadership of their commander.
The Bloodhawks led by IV Orsman transferred their auras to their long and pointed spears and attacked like death machines, transferring their mana to their horses to increase their speed.
The Ashbrum Dynasty Lord XXI Carl also ordered his soldiers to attack and led the attack himself at the front.
The Bloodhawks cut through the Golden Lions under Carl's command like an arrow and scattered them into pieces.
With each swing of his sword, Orsman cut dozens of Ashbrum soldiers and their horses in two. Then he unleashed his most powerful attack:
The Power of Nur
This power was different from Mana and Aura; only a select few, so few they could be counted, could use this power.
When Orsman used Nur, the surroundings were illuminated in white light.
The Ashbrums lost around 30,000 soldiers; the rest lost their senses.
Orsman used this opportunity to surround the central armies under Carl's command with his elite warriors.
"This is the opportunity! Kill them all!"
Hearing the order, the Blood Hawks, Blood Orphans, and Blood Bastards swung their swords without even taking a breath.
The Ashbrum right and left wings were trapped by the Kislavein right and left wings, so they could not help the center.
Carl was able to escape the Kislavein death circle thanks to his brother Malcolm.
Within an hour, the Ashbrum central armies were destroyed.
Orsman divided the Central army into two and sent them to the right and left wings.
When the Kislavein elite warriors came to support the flanks, the balance of the battle turned in the Kislavein's favor.
The Ashbrums' only hope was to kill Orsman.
Carl and his two brothers, Malcolm and Weion, managed to confront Orsman with the sacrifice of countless soldiers.
"Your reign ends here, IV Orsman," said the Ashbrum Lord Carl.
"You have killed countless warriors. Today you will pay for your sins and die, Kislavein," said Malcolm.
"Fear, Orsman. Our God Sihao will curse your soul forever."
Orsman burst into laughter.
"You're giving me a headache. Your words are so cliché that my ears are bleeding. We will see who dies. I will send you to your non-existent God. You can thank me later."
After the insults against them and their god, the Ashbrum brothers went crazy.
Carl was high-level in swordsmanship; his brothers were high-level in magic, but Orsman was at the top of both magic and swordsmanship.
Even though his mana was depleted, he still had his aura. He swung his sword and threw Carl, who was attacking him, meters away.
He protected himself by strengthening his armor with his aura against Malcolm and Weion, who rained fire and lightning down on him.
Then he swung his sword. The aura on his sword materialized. It split the air like a shining line and advanced like a deadly crescent.
It shattered those standing in front of him. Malcolm and Weion were astonished by what had happened.
There was a huge cut from their shoulders to their waists. Orsman's aura had torn through their armor and cut their flesh.
Weion was shocked; he lost his mind. The pain blinded his eyes and deafened his ears.
"AAAAAAAAAAA! BROTHER! IT HURTS SO MUCH! IT HURTS SO MUCH!"
While Weion screamed in pain, Malcolm kept his cool, healed his wound with a healing spell, and stood up. When he noticed his brother in shock, he punched him hard in the face and started yelling.
"PULL YOURSELF TOGETHER, WEION! IF WE FALL HERE, EVERYTHING IS OVER! CALM DOWN!"
Weion calmed down and regained his senses.
"Cast a healing spell immediately and heal yourself."
Orsman, not wanting to give his opponents a chance to recover, slaughtered the Ashbrums trying to stop him and rushed forward.
Weion healed himself and stood up at that moment. Carl arrived. All three were well aware of the situation they were in.
If they fell here, they would lose the war.
The Ashbrums would be destroyed, and future generations would hate them for starting this war by slaughtering the Kislavein delegation.
All three prepared for war. Orsman quickly attacked them.
In the fierce battle, Weion was the first to die at Orsman's hands. Orsman cut him in two.
Then, he thrust his sword into Malcolm's mouth (whose magic power had run out) and split his head and brain upward.
Finally, Carl weakened and fell to his feet. Fatigue had seeped into his eyes and body. His lips were chapped from thirst, and he was taking his last breaths.
"I will not ask for mercy, Orsman. My only request from you is to kill me quickly, if possible, and do not harm the innocent people."
Orsman did not want to bother answering, but wanted to put Carl in his place.
"Only the winners can ask for something. Die, Ashbrum Dynasty Lord."
Orsman swung his sword diagonally from the air towards the ground. Carl's severed head flew into the air.
Orsman impaled Carl's head on the tip of his sword and lifted it into the air. Carl's head was 4 meters high.
When the Ashbrums saw their Lord's severed head, they began to flee, but this time the Kislaveins did not chase those who were running away, because they themselves were exhausted.
In that day's battle, 1,800,000 Kislavein soldiers died, while 2,400,000 Ashbrum soldiers perished.
When civilian casualties were included in this equation, eight million people had died in the past four years, and if the Ashbrums did not surrender, they would continue to die.
