Chapter 538 - Chapter 537: The Secretary's Troubles

When he could finally cultivate, who knew how strong his talent would be!

It was just unknown if he could be even more monstrous than Torifu was as a child.

After all, destroying a nation at the age of twelve wasn't something just anyone could do.

However, with the way Torifu was piling resources on him now, Akihara's talent certainly wouldn't be bad.

And Akihara also had Uchiha bloodline, and could awaken the Sharingan.

With the powerful combination of the Kumotsuru Clan and the Uchiha Clan, this boy, Akihara, couldn't possibly be weak.

Nowadays, almost everyone in Konoha Village was looking forward to seeing what his talent would truly be like.

But even if this boy's talent really wasn't anything special, that wouldn't matter; Torifu wouldn't scorn his own son.

At worst, he'd just raise him. Anyway, he was the Hokage of Konoha Village, and no one would point fingers at his son.

Torifu put the fruit and the Flame Branches into his space ring. He'd give them to the mother and son after they returned later.

About five or six minutes later, Minato came out of the house, with a smile on his face, clearly in good spirits.

It seemed he was quite satisfied with the effects of the fruit.

"Big brother, I can feel it, my speed has improved quite a bit!"

Minato appeared beside Torifu in a flash from the doorway, not even seeming to take a second.

In just the blink of an eye, he had completed a Flying Thunder God Jutsu.

Seeing this, Torifu nodded repeatedly: "That's very good. It feels like it's worth a year of your training."

Torifu was also very satisfied with this effect; the Peace Points spent were well worth it.

"Indeed, my strength has increased. Who knows, I might become an Elite Jonin very soon."

Torifu looked at Minato's confident expression. Although he didn't want to dampen his spirits, he still offered a reminder.

"While your record is quite impressive, you still lack a significant number of S-rank missions. It will take at least half a year to meet the threshold for promotion to Elite Jonin."

Minato didn't get discouraged after hearing this; instead, he scratched his head with a smile: "That's true... but I'll try to push myself hard next year to meet the promotion standard sooner."

Minato had only started to really exert himself in the past year or two, after being promoted to Jonin. Although his strength could definitely easily defeat some of Konoha Village's Elite Jonin.

But he hadn't completed enough missions and could only remain at the standard Jonin level.

Although Torifu could make an exception for him and promote him directly, there was no need at all. Elite Jonin was just a title, and he wouldn't gain anything significant by being promoted.

There was no need to give him this special privilege. Moreover, Torifu wanted Minato to gain more experience so that when he took over Konoha Village in the future, he would be more adept.

The S-rank missions he was undertaking now were far too different from what Torifu had done back then. He still needed more training.

Of course, Minato didn't know Torifu's thoughts. And naturally, even if he did know, he would definitely support it wholeheartedly.

For the rest of that day, Torifu continued to spend his time browsing the shop, but he didn't get anything good.

Yahiko and Konan trained for several hours before they could barely adapt to their new Kekkei Genkai and ninja tools.

However, their inner excitement hadn't diminished at all. This excitement would likely last for another day or two.

Fortunately, the New Year's holiday started tomorrow, which would give them enough time to master their new acquisitions.

It was believed that next year, their strength would definitely advance by leaps and bounds.

As for the Enlightenment Fruit and the Flame Branches, after Naori and Akihara returned from their shopping trip, Torifu gave them both items.

He also casually asked Naori if she wanted a Kekkei Genkai.

Naori was quite interested in it. After all, she wasn't a housewife; her main responsibility was currently being a Jonin instructor.

However, she was only interested and didn't choose to consume it.

For those of the Uchiha Clan, their own Sharingan was already the strongest Kekkei Genkai, and there was no need to awaken anything else.

This was also the pride of their clan.

Torifu could understand this.

Ultimately, Naori and Akihara each used the resources under Torifu's supervision.

Naori's strength had also improved again. Her current strength was roughly comparable to Hiruzen's and theirs.

That was pretty good.

...

Early the next morning, after everyone had eaten together, Torifu headed to the Hokage's office.

Today, there was the task of announcing the Spring Festival, and he hadn't forgotten it.

When the secretary saw that Hokage-sama himself had come today, she became a bit more talkative.

"Hokage-sama, is this Spring Festival also a unique festival of the Kumotsuru Clan? Why haven't I heard you mention it before?"

Torifu explained while writing the announcement with his head down: "Before, I was the only one in the Kumotsuru Clan, so whether it was unique or not didn't matter, since only I knew about it.

"But now I have a son, and Akihara is grown. He needs to inherit some of the Kumotsuru Clan's culture. I also thought, since everyone is idle during this New Year period, we might as well experience the Spring Festival together."

The secretary wore an expression of sudden realization after hearing this: "Ah, I understand! Torifu-sama is fostering the young master's feelings for the Kumotsuru Clan, and letting him have some fun at the same time."

Torifu snapped his fingers: "That's right. Are you a genius, perhaps?"

The secretary chuckled: "It's just that I've been with Hokage-sama for so long, I've absorbed a bit by osmosis."

This young secretary had worked with Torifu for a long time. No matter what task Torifu assigned her, she could complete it perfectly. Torifu still trusted her quite a bit.

Anyway, he was currently drafting the announcement, which wasn't particularly strenuous, so he could chat with her for a while.

"By the way, you've been dating your boyfriend for quite a while now, haven't you? When do you plan to get married?"

At the mention of this, the young secretary's face fell: "Hokage-sama, please don't even mention it! It makes me so angry! I want to get married, but that unreliable man of mine insists on waiting until he's promoted to Jonin and his position is similar to mine before marrying me!"

Gossip! Torifu immediately became interested, but seeing the young secretary's look of frustration at her boyfriend's lack of ambition, Torifu didn't inquire further.

The secretary was a direct descendant girl of the Nara Clan, the granddaughter of the Nara Elder, and was around twenty-five or twenty-six this year.

Torifu remembered, her boyfriend seemed to be from an ordinary family, didn't he? That explained it.

A boy from an ordinary family had fallen in love with a high-born lady, not to mention that this young lady also held the incredibly high position of Hokage's secretary.

And he was only a Chunin, so it was natural for him to feel inferior.

"You should try to be more understanding. If he doesn't achieve something, your grandfather won't let him marry you."

The secretary sighed softly after hearing this: "Sigh, alright, I'll give him one more year. Otherwise, I really will have to reconsider."

She wasn't young anymore this year. If she couldn't find someone suitable, she might really have to stay single her entire life.
