Chapter 250: Reunion of Old Friends
Despite believing that Bo Saixi was dead, Qian Daoliu couldn't simply ignore the powerful aura outside. It was clear that whoever it was had come specifically to find him. Out of respect for a fellow Ultimate Douluo, he had to respond. Slowly standing up, he transformed into a streak of white light and soared toward the source of the energy.
Outside Spirit City, Bo Saixi stood quietly, releasing her aura and waiting patiently. She was confident that Qian Daoliu would come to see her. Sure enough, it didn't take long before a beam of white light shot out from the city, landing a short distance away.
"You… Are you Bo Saixi's descendant?!"
Qian Daoliu stared in disbelief at the very much alive Bo Saixi. His expression was as if he had just discovered that the goddess he had secretly admired for years was actually a married woman with a 20 year old daughter.
His confusion wasn't unfounded. It wasn't just that Bo Saixi looked younger after all, soul masters didn't rely solely on appearances to identify others. Aura was the key.
But now, Bo Saixi's entire body had been remade. Even her Martial Soul was different from before, and she had restarted her cultivation from scratch. Naturally, her energy signature had undergone a complete transformation.
Her current aura bore no resemblance to the one he remembered. Instead, it was a pure and refined water element aura.
Given this drastic difference, it was reasonable for Qian Daoliu to mistake her for Bo Saixi's descendant. After all, she looked exactly like Bo Saixi, but her aura was completely different. The only logical explanation was that she must be her daughter.
"Qian Daoliu, has it been so long that you no longer recognize an old friend?"
Looking at the slightly aged Qian Daoliu, Bo Saixi couldn't help but feel a sense of time's passage. In the blink of an eye, so many years had gone by.
"This familiar presence…"
Qian Daoliu studied her carefully. The tone of her voice was identical to Bo Saixi's from years past, making his heart waver.
Could it really be her?
However, he hesitated. The aura she radiated was filled with boundless life and youthful vigor. There was no trace of the aged presence he remembered. It simply didn't feel right.
No matter how much someone's appearance and aura changed, the mark of time was something that couldn't be erased. A person who had lived for centuries should carry a certain weight of experience a sense of weariness from the passage of time.
But this woman before him… had none of that.
All he could sense from her was youth, energy, and vitality as if she were in the prime of her life.
It was undeniable. This was not the same Bo Saixi he had known.
What Qian Daoliu didn't realize was that Bo Saixi's entire body had been recreated from scratch. Her new body was, in essence, like that of a newborn. Even though she had been rapidly aged to adulthood, the pure life energy coursing through her was constantly refreshing her spirit.
As a result, her gaze, aura, and presence had all changed significantly. She now radiated the energy of a youthful, vibrant woman a stark contrast to the majestic yet solemn High Priestess of the past.
"I am Bo Saixi!"
Bo Saixi frowned slightly, her tone carrying a hint of annoyance. "What are you even thinking? How could I have had children?!"
But Qian Daoliu still couldn't believe it.
This defied everything he knew.
Besides, apart from her appearance, everything about her felt different. If anything, she seemed more like a young girl who had grown up mimicking Bo Saixi rather than Bo Saixi herself.
After a moment of contemplation, Qian Daoliu decided to let go of the question.
Did it really matter whether she was the real Bo Saixi or not?
For him, the only thing that mattered now was ensuring that his granddaughter inherited the Angel God's position.
Whether this Bo Saixi was real or fake was irrelevant.
Even if she was real, could anything change between them?
Bo Saixi's heart had always belonged to Tang Chen. She had never seen Qian Daoliu as anything more than a fellow High Priest.
Even if, somehow, she suddenly stopped loving Tang Chen and fell for him, it wouldn't change anything.
As the Great Priest of Spirit Hall, Qian Daoliu had accepted his fate long ago.
From the moment his granddaughter received the Angel God's Nine Trials, his destiny was sealed to sacrifice himself so that she could ascend to godhood.
For Qian Daoliu, love and romance were long dead concepts.
"What do you want from me?" he asked directly.
Bo Saixi noticed the sudden coldness in his tone, but she didn't take offense. After all, she had only come to ask for directions.
"I need to know the location of Slaughter City," she said plainly.
"Slaughter City…"
Qian Daoliu's brow furrowed slightly.
Of course, he knew about it. It was the inheritance ground of a deity whose power clashed with the Angel God.
Beyond that, he knew very little.
Every year, countless evil soul masters who had committed unspeakable crimes fled into Slaughter City. It was a place where entry was easy, but escape was nearly impossible.
Because leaving required passing the Hell Road, the conditions were too harsh.
Over time, many major powers began treating Slaughter City as a prison a place to dispose of criminals.
However, only a handful of people knew that Slaughter City was actually a divine inheritance ground.
Now, this "Bo Saixi" wanted to go there.
Why?
Qian Daoliu found it suspicious, but revealing the location itself was harmless.
Besides, even if he didn't tell her, she could easily ask someone else.
Rather than making things difficult, he might as well use this opportunity to do her a favor.
With that thought, Qian Daoliu retrieved a map from his storage device.
Using his soul power, he marked a route leading to Slaughter City. Then, he rolled up the map and tossed it toward her.
"This is the location of Slaughter City," he said.
Bo Saixi reached out and caught the floating map but didn't bother to check it. She trusted that Qian Daoliu wouldn't lie about something like this.
She glanced at him one last time and simply said, "Thank you."
"You're welcome. If you have no other business here, please leave," Qian Daoliu replied flatly.
"Apologies for the disturbance."
Without hesitation, Bo Saixi turned around and soared into the sky as a streak of blue light.
Watching Her Leave
Qian Daoliu stood motionless, watching her figure disappear into the distance.
A strange mix of loss and relief filled his heart.
Was this truly Bo Saixi?
Did it even matter anymore?
This meeting real or not had allowed him to let go of the past.
It was enough.
He had long since resigned himself to fate.
His only goal now was to ensure that his granddaughter successfully ascended to godhood.
Then, his burden would be lifted.
Onward to Slaughter City
Once she was beyond Qian Daoliu's sensing range, Bo Saixi finally stopped and unfurled the map.
As expected, it clearly marked various locations and a direct path to Slaughter City.
After confirming the direction, she took a deep breath and shot forward like a blue comet.
Tang Chen, I'm coming!
