Chapter 500 - Chapter 500: Impact

Chapter 500: Impact

Douluo 1, White Cloud City.

After a long and perilous journey, having braved the treacherous seas, Huo Yuhao finally set foot on this foreign continent, reaching the heart of its civilization White Cloud City.

However, he was quickly stunned to learn that he was not the first person from his homeland to arrive. Several individuals from Douluo 2 had already made their way here before him, and to his shock, they were all well known figures from Shrek Academy.

Yet, what they had done was utterly disgraceful, bringing shame upon their entire continent. Huo Yuhao was embarrassed to even be associated with them.

Begging for cooperation and failing, only to resort to theft?

And the worst part? They had been completely exposed, with the entire process recorded and publicly broadcasted for the whole world to see.

What an utter disgrace!

Huo Yuhao felt his face burning with shame. He no longer even dared to admit he was from the same continent as those fools.

"So... after months of struggle, what was the point of my journey?" Huo Yuhao thought numbly, staring at a newly constructed teleportation gate not far away.

This teleportation gate connected directly to Douluo 2, allowing anyone to cross between continents instantly for a small fee.

Yes, in just a single step, one could now traverse the once dangerous ocean and arrive at Douluo 2.

And these teleportation gates weren't just here in White Cloud City; they were scattered throughout various regions, all built and maintained under White Cloud City's authority.

After all, controlling Douluo 2 from across the sea would have been logistically difficult. Without these gates, maintaining full dominance over the new continent would have been far more challenging.

And so, White Cloud City ensured instantaneous travel, keeping Douluo 2 firmly within their grasp.

Huo Yuhao was speechless.

He thought back to his grueling voyage, the countless dangers he had faced, and the sheer determination it had taken to make it across the sea.

And now?

Now he was being told that there was a teleportation gate that could have taken him across instantly?!

"Heavens... are you mocking me?"

Just as he was spiraling into existential despair, Elder Ye's voice echoed in his mind.

"There is no need to dwell on this, Yuhao. Consider your journey as a valuable experience. Think of it as training an opportunity to grow."

"The struggles you endured, the lessons you learned those are unique to you. This was not a wasted effort, but a path of personal growth."

After a round of philosophical encouragement, Huo Yuhao finally let go of his frustration. He had been successfully convinced that his suffering was worthwhile.

With that out of the way, he turned his focus to the latest developments on Douluo 2.

After learning about everything that had happened, he felt no sympathy for the conquered continent.

His journey across the land had already shown him the vast differences between the two continents.

Here in Douluo 1, there was no famine, no oppression, no nobility exploiting the weak. Society was advanced, fair, and just.

Compared to that, Douluo 2 was nothing more than a backward, decaying land, trapped in its own corruption.

So when he heard that Douluo 2 had been conquered and integrated into White Cloud City's rule, he wholeheartedly approved.

Especially after learning about Shrek Academy's true nature, he felt immense relief that he had left when he did. Otherwise, he would have been dragged down with them.

"So, what now? The City Lord isn't someone we can just walk up and meet," Huo Yuhao pondered.

"Do not worry. I share the same essence as the Lord of this world. The moment you entered White Cloud City, I was able to establish contact with him," Elder Ye reassured him.

"He has already sent someone to pick you up. Stay where you are and wait."

"Elder Ye, you're the best!" Huo Yuhao grinned and patiently waited.

Some time later, a soul powered vehicle arrived and parked beside him.

The window lowered, revealing a middle aged man who calmly stated that he had been sent to escort him to the City Lord's residence.

Without hesitation, Huo Yuhao entered the car, which smoothly glided forward without any engine noise or pollution.

The entire vehicle was powered by pure soul energy, eliminating any form of exhaust emissions.

Sitting inside, Huo Yuhao couldn't help but look around curiously.

This was his first time experiencing a fully soul powered automobile.

Beyond White Cloud City, such technology was still an extreme luxury, but within the city, it was a common sight.

Over the years, White Cloud City had evolved into a futuristic metropolis, featuring modern infrastructure, towering skyscrapers, and advanced manufacturing plants.

After a smooth ride, the vehicle arrived at its destination.

The Imperial Palace remained unchanged, still carrying its majestic and ancient aura.

However, outside the palace walls, the city had transformed entirely skyscrapers, factories, and commercial hubs stretched across the landscape.

As soon as the car stopped, a guard approached and personally led Huo Yuhao inside.

Navigating through the winding, labyrinthine corridors, Huo Yuhao quickly realized that without a guide, newcomers would get completely lost.

Meanwhile, inside the palace…

What was the City Lord doing?

Training his disciple.

And that disciple was not Zhu Zhuqing but someone else.

Someone Huo Yuhao was very familiar with.

As soon as he entered, his eyes widened in shock at the sight of the person sparring with the City Lord.

"Ju... Juzi?!"

His voice was filled with disbelief.

Hearing her name, the orange haired girl briefly adjusted her stance, then glanced sideways at Huo Yuhao.

Her expression was calm, but her eyes carried a hint of defensiveness, as if she was wary of competition.

"Why wouldn't I be here?" Juzi replied, her grip on her sword steady.

Huo Yuhao opened his mouth but found himself at a loss for words.

The fusion of the two worlds had caused massive changes why wouldn't she be here?

"Now, I am the teacher's disciple," Juzi continued, her tone carrying a hint of pride.

As if becoming the City Lord's disciple was an immense honor.

And why had she been chosen?

Because she possessed twin martial souls one of which was inherited from the City Lord himself.

Upon realizing this rare connection, the City Lord had decided to personally train her.

Huo Yuhao was speechless.

The envy in his heart was overwhelming.

"Why couldn't I have such luck?!"

If he had the chance to become the disciple of someone so powerful, the benefits would be unimaginable!

But fate had other plans.

For now, he could only accept reality and hope that his own journey had just begun.
