Chapter 300: Hammer vs. Arrow
Seven spirit rings six red and one platinum, an unprecedented sight.
Given the overwhelming strength that Shui Bing'er's team had displayed earlier, no one dared to underestimate Han Li, the Holy Son, who had never revealed his true power. However, from his very first ring being a hundred thousand year one, wasn't this a bit too absurd?
The entire arena fell into stunned silence. Even Bibi Dong, who should have been the least surprised, was visibly shaken no, she was probably the one who understood the true weight of this revelation the most.
What kind of divine trial did he receive? What god would be this generous?
This was the first thought that crossed Bibi Dong's mind.
She had already passed several trials herself, yet aside from minor divine affinity rewards, she had gained nothing. The concept of extending spirit ring ages was something she had heard about when she first accepted her god trials, but she had never actually received such a reward.
Tightly gripping her scepter, she looked at Han Li, her gaze tinged with jealousy.
"Your Holiness, this..."
The high ranking officials of Spirit Hall were first shocked, then overjoyed.
They had previously witnessed Han Li's spirit rings, and while they were certainly impressive, they had never been this monstrous.
Han Li had already been pushing the concept of spirit ring limit breaking, and recently, the technique he introduced was even being promoted internally under Qian Daoliu's authority. Did this mean they too could reach such levels in the future?
If Spirit Hall's side was thrilled, then Tang Hao and the representatives of the other factions felt only suffocating pressure.
How were they supposed to fight against this?
"This is impossible!"
Tang Hao's expression twisted in disbelief. He could feel that Han Li's aura was in no way weaker than his own.
"Hmm, you're right, it's impossible. My spirit rings are fake. Look, I'll show you."
As he spoke, Han Li's spirit rings suddenly started changing colors, cycling through red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and violet. However, despite the display, the smirk on his face made it clear he was toying with them.
Below him, everyone stared blankly at the constantly shifting colors of his spirit rings. This was beyond absurd it defied everything they knew.
"Alright, enough talk, Tang Hao. Are you going to fight, or do I have to drag them into it as well?"
Han Li's spirit rings returned to their original six red and one platinum, stabilizing above his head. His left hand turned slightly, while his right hand casually rested on the pale red energy bowstring, already aimed downward.
Tang Hao's grip tightened around the Clear Sky Hammer. He hadn't even engaged yet, yet he already felt locked in place, as if he were being targeted.
"Xiao San, take care of yourself."
Tang Hao turned his head slightly to speak to Tang San. His voice wasn't particularly low, making it unclear whether he was speaking to his son or someone else.
Han Li chuckled. Probably meant for Tang Xiao. Let's see if the master of the Clear Sky Clan dares to show himself.
Under the watchful eyes of the entire crowd, Tang Hao slowly rose into the air, facing Han Li's ever present smile.
"You look nervous," Han Li remarked, his tone relaxed compared to Tang Hao's grim demeanor.
"Brat, let me tell you something: never underestimate a Titled Douluo. Especially one called 'Haotian Douluo.' Just like Qian Xunji, you can go to hell!"
"Clear Sky Avatar!"
Tang Hao's seventh spirit ring flared as his Clear Sky Hammer erupted with intense black light, expanding wildly. The enormous hammer surged in size, growing to over a hundred meters in length, its colossal head resembling a small mountain.
With a ferocious expression, Tang Hao swung the hammer, completely ignoring the distance between them. It descended directly toward Han Li.
To him, this was the difference in battle experience. As a tool spirit master specializing in long range combat, Han Li's biggest mistake had been not attacking the moment he ascended into the sky.
No matter how powerful his spirit rings were, Tang Hao was already prepared to fight with his life on the line. Still too inexperienced.
As the hammer closed in, ready to strike Han Li, Tang Hao had already prepared for his next attack.
But then, he saw Han Li smirk, raising his left hand casually to meet the hammer head on.
At the same time, a voice rang in his ears.
"What made you think I ever gave you a chance?"
Han Li's fourth and sixth spirit rings simultaneously lit up, their blood red glow enveloping him. Tang Hao watched as a golden radiance and a swirling gray energy descended onto Han Li.
The golden light seemed to be emanating from Han Li himself, while the gray energy condensed into a shield, encasing him completely.
With his left arm, Han Li effortlessly caught the massive Clear Sky Hammer mid air.
Fourth Spirit Skill: Overlord Body.
Han Li had never used this ability before. It was the skill he had obtained when he hastily hunted a mutated Titan Ape, an ability that doubled his strength and granted him an absolute defensive state.
Sixth Spirit Skill: Heretic God's Protection this was the only defensive skill Han Li had obtained from the Dark Devilgod Tiger.
Combined with his body, which was already beginning to transform into a divine physique, and the enhancements brought by his spirit bones, his raw strength was in no way inferior to that of a pure power type spirit master.
In midair, after receiving Tang Hao's Clear Sky Avatar attack head on, Han Li didn't even budge. The only visible reaction was the swirling of the gray energy surrounding him, whereas Tang Hao, gripping the hammer's handle tightly, suffered from the immense recoil, his palms already dripping with fresh blood.
"You attacked first. Isn't it only fair that I strike back?"
Han Li tilted his head slightly, locking eyes with Tang Hao, whose face was turning red with exertion. Without hesitation, he raised his right fist and smashed it against the Clear Sky Avatar.
A metallic crash resounded through the air. The mountain sized Clear Sky Hammer, along with Tang Hao, was sent hurtling even higher into the sky. The spectators below, watching the battle unfold, were left utterly stunned.
One of the most iconic power type martial spirits in the world of spirit masters, the Clear Sky Hammer, wielded by a peak Titled Douluo in his martial spirit avatar form, had been casually intercepted. And not only that the Holy Son had struck back impatiently, sending Tang Hao flying.
However, as one of the Slaughter Gods, Tang Hao didn't waver just because of a single setback. Instead, a smirk appeared on his lips.
Using a single Clear Sky Avatar sneak attack, he had forced Han Li to reveal two of his spirit skills while also gathering valuable data. A worthy trade.
Moreover, launching him into the air with a hammer strike? That wasn't necessarily a good idea.
Executing the Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer Technique in Clear Sky Avatar form was physically taxing, but with Han Li's attack helping propel him upward, it made things much easier.
Unlike Tang San, Tang Hao had mastered the technique on a much deeper level. Assessing his current state, he adjusted his body midair, naturally rotating as he grasped the hammer's handle with both hands. With a powerful swing, the massive Clear Sky Hammer was raised high above his head.
"Thirty sixth strike!"
On the lowest spectator stand, Tang San's eyes shone with violet light, his face filled with awe.
Father is incredible! Using the opponent's attack to instantly stack the Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer Technique to its thirty sixth strike… this level of mastery is beyond my reach!
"I'll admit, you're strong. But brat, this is where you die. Perish beneath my thirty sixth hammer strike you should feel honored!"
At the peak of his ascent, Tang Hao let out a booming laugh. His body leaped upward once more, gripping the colossal hammer many times larger than himself, and brought it crashing down toward Han Li.
"Do all Clear Sky Clan members have heads made of iron like their hammers?"
Below, Han Li remained calm, his right hand slowly drawing back the bowstring of his Ice Fire Dragon Bow.
"Did you really think I wouldn't know about your so called Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer Technique?"
A dual colored arrow materialized on his martial spirit, his third spirit ring now appearing at the center of the bow like a targeting scope, locked onto the rapidly descending Tang Hao.
"Go."
A soft command echoed. The arrow shot forth, its speed barely faster than a spirit elder running at full sprint, aiming straight for the massive Clear Sky Hammer.
Down in the arena, Spirit Hall's high ranking members collectively held their breath.
It's this move… the one we saw years ago… but back then, the spirit ring on the bow was still black.
The mountain sized Clear Sky Hammer and the seemingly minuscule dual colored arrow met less than a hundred meters above Han Li.
Massive versus tiny. Black against red and white. The contrast was stark.
At first contact, the arrow shattered, appearing as though it had been crushed by the overwhelming force of the hammer.
But only Tang Hao himself knew the truth.
The arrow's power was immense far greater than its sluggish flight speed suggested.
Additionally, due to how condensed the attack was, the Clear Sky Avatar showed no visible external damage, but internally, a fine network of cracks had begun to spread, sending shockwaves through Tang Hao's entire body.
He barely suppressed the urge to cough up blood.
If that were the only issue, he could endure it.
But the explosion from the arrow's impact carried an ice fire element, trying to invade the Clear Sky Hammer. Extreme cold and scorching heat rapidly weakened its natural defenses.
And the most frustrating part?
He had planned to use the explosion's force to continue his Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer Technique.
But at the moment of impact, the Clear Sky Hammer was momentarily frozen by the ice element.
Just a fraction of a second.
But in that instant, seventy percent of the force he had built up dissipated.
Tang Hao hesitated. Should he continue?
Then he looked down.
Han Li was smiling at him again.
His right hand was already drawing back the bowstring once more.
He had no choice. He had to continue.
Tang Hao redirected his trajectory, stepping forcefully midair. His left leg flared with light.
He activated his spirit bone's power.
In the sky, this was the only way he could sustain his attack.
