Chapter 456: The Extreme North Trembles, the Ice God Returns

This overwhelming feeling of power left him momentarily intoxicated, making him feel as if he were omnipotent. But he quickly snapped back to reality he had only just ignited the Divine Flame; he had not yet obtained a divine seat. He couldn't afford to get carried away.
"I've only just ignited the Divine Flame, I haven't secured a divine seat yet I can't let this go to my head." He reined in his thoughts, realizing that his brief moment of euphoria was likely due to momentarily connecting with the residual authority of the Water Dragon King.
After all, this was the authority of a God King a level far above his own. Experiencing some influence upon first contact was entirely natural. However, he believed that, over time, he would grow accustomed to it.
"Still, the legends of the Extreme North must be part truth and part fiction. For example, the tale of the Ice God descending upon a Titan Giant and giving birth to the Titan Snow Demon lineage that has to be nonsense. Some bold Titan Snow Demon probably fabricated that story to elevate the status of their lineage."
"After all, the Water Dragon King is the Ice God, and the Water Dragon King used to call the Dragon God 'Father'. The Dragon God even wanted the Water Dragon King to become its future daughter in law. By Douluo's established romantic standards, the Water Dragon King would never have sought out a Titan Giant of its own accord. "Ice God!" Snow Empress was the first to call out the title, her face uncharacteristically filled with excitement.
Huo Yuhao igniting his Divine Flame meant he had taken a major step toward godhood. This was not only an incredible milestone for Huo Yuhao himself, but also for the soul spirits, and even for the entire Extreme North it was an enormous blessing.
Moments later, Ice Empress and Titan Snow Demon King followed suit, their voices filled with emotion as they cried out, "Ice God!"
Then, all the gathered soul beasts erupted in cheers, their roars shaking the heavens.

Not every soul beast in the Extreme North could speak human language. Most of them communicated using specific vocalizations beast language. If one were to give this language a name, it might be called "Beast Speech".
To ordinary humans, this sounded no different from encrypted noise.
However, Huo Yuhao now found that he could understand the beast language perfectly. Regardless of whether the soul beasts called him "Ice God" in human words or in their own primal cries, he understood them all.

He had no intention of absorbing any faith energy just yet.
The disturbance caused by igniting the Divine Flame had been massive, even reaching the cosmic level. If he wasn't careful, the God Kings of the Divine Realm might notice and start hunting him down. Right now, his best course of action was to lay low and avoid attention.
As for repaying the soul beasts of the Extreme North for their assistance?
He fully intended to do so but not now. Once he was safely hidden away, he would find an opportunity to return and properly reward them.
He understood one thing clearly if not for these soul beasts, he never would have been able to ignite the Ice God's Divine Flame.
Though the Water Dragon King's soul had ultimately been the missing puzzle piece, the soul beasts had still played an indispensable role.
Since they had helped him, he would return the favor. He wasn't the kind of person who would burn the bridge after crossing it.
