Early the next morning, Ji Wei had packed everything.
Before leaving, she held An An and went to Gu Zhizhou's room.
Gu Zhizhou was now staying awake for longer periods and could say a few simple words, which was pleasantly surprising.
An An liked his grandfather who was lying on the bed. As soon as he entered the room, he slipped down from Ji Wei's arms, kicked his little legs, ran to the bedside, and stuffed his favorite toy airplane into Gu Zhizhou's hand: "Grandpa, here's a plane for you to play with!"
An An said with his clear big eyes and childlike voice.
Gu Zhizhou struggled to raise his hand, touched his grandson's fluffy hair, and opened his mouth to utter two difficult words: "Thank you."
"No thanks!" An An said happily, continuing to chat with his grandfather, "Grandpa, do you like the plane?"
Gu Zhizhou slowly nodded.
"When Grandpa gets better, you'll play with me!" An An said, struggling to organize his words.
