Sheng Tang's prediction was spot on.
The sandstorm ended in just twenty minutes. When it was over, the sunset had not yet fully descended, casting golden rays over the pervasive yellow sand.
The dunes, pushed by the wind, were extraordinarily smooth.
When the sandstorm hit, the rest of the crew retreated to their tents. No one noticed that Sheng Tang and Gu Shiting had disappeared.
By the time they returned, Director Fei Muzhi was the first to notice.
He asked Sheng Tang in surprise, "Where did you go? Wasn't there a sandstorm just now?"
"Yes, I went out for a walk and just happened to run into it," Sheng Tang replied.
The director was startled, fearing that Sheng Tang and Gu Shiting had been buried alive by the sandstorm.
"We must wrap up quickly," the director said. "The later it gets, the more bad weather we'll encounter, so we should hurry up and finish filming and head back."
Sheng Tang nodded in agreement.
The weather was relatively good for the next few days.
