The sound of the rotor blades echoed in the sky. The rain had stopped at some point, and the air was filled with the fresh scent of moist earth.
An Ran sat in the helicopter, feeling waves of drowsiness wash over her, her eyelids beginning to droop.
"Tired? Take a nap, I'll wake you when we arrive," Mu Xingfeng said, seeing the little girl struggling to stay awake. He kissed her forehead and pulled her closer into his embrace.
She was soaked through, and at the moment, he could only use his body warmth to give her some comfort.
An Ran forced her eyes open, baring her small white teeth in a smile at the man, "Not tired. Mu Xingfeng, how come you're here? Is the exercise over? Did you win?"
"Not yet, just got a temporary assignment," Mu Xingfeng said, looking into the girl's eyes and tucking her hair behind her ear. "I was supposed to return after completing the mission, but now, winning or losing doesn't seem to matter that much to me anymore."
