Chapter 268 - Chapter 268 Golden Dragon Spear

A massive figure appeared.

It was a monster Gu You had never seen before. Its head resembled that of a giant dragon, but its body was as large as a small mountain. Its entire body was covered in dark green scales. Three legs supported its body, while its upper torso was extremely robust. Its arms were especially long, ending in the claws Gu You had seen earlier—each claw more than five meters in diameter. A huge tail dragged behind it.

It had four eyes, all glowing with a crimson light, and its entire aura was ferocious and sinister.

"This is Ba'an. Be careful," the Major warned quietly.

Ba'an?

Aside from knowing its name, the Major's warning didn't really mean much to Gu You.

Still, having a name was better than nothing. A monster with a name likely ranked fairly high among the abyssal creatures.

Gu You said in a deep voice, "Stay here against the cave wall and don't move. I'll handle it."

As he spoke, he had already strode forward, charging straight toward the monster.

This creature was enormous. Judging by its appearance, it stood over forty meters tall. Among all the land-based soul beasts Gu You had seen, only the King Kong Baboon was larger.

Compared with the gigantic Ba'an, Gu You looked tiny. Yet suddenly his body shot upward, soaring like an arrow into the air.

Standing in the corner, the Major watched him rush forward. For some reason, her heart trembled slightly at that moment.

Not everyone had the courage to charge head-on at a monster of Ba'an's level—especially the first time seeing it.

Ba'an roared. Its four eyes lit up like blazing fireballs. Opening its mouth, it spat out a stream of dark-purple flames toward Gu You.

The Major instinctively shut her eyes.

She simply didn't want to see Gu You burned to ashes by that abyssal demonic flame.

Without any equipment, an ordinary soul master facing Ba'an's abyssal flames would have only one outcome—instant melting, leaving nothing but a resentful spirit.

But in the next instant, what she heard was Ba'an's furious cry of pain.

She hurriedly opened her eyes.

What she saw shocked her beyond words.

A purple-gold figure had already reached Ba'an's head. She would never forget the sight—Ba'an's enormous body was sent flying sideways, crashing violently into the distant cave wall before bouncing off and slamming onto the ground.

Gu You descended from the sky, tossing aside the firearm in his hand. The weapon was now useless; it couldn't cause any damage.

At that moment, his entire body was covered in purple-gold scales. Dragon claws extended from his hands, and six rings of blood-energy rose beneath his feet, gently pulsing around his body.

This was…

Gold? Blue?

Soul rings?

No—impossible! In this place, humans shouldn't be able to summon their martial souls!

The Major was completely stunned.

Then she saw Gu You leap again. His speed had increased by at least double, shooting toward Ba'an like a purple-gold cannonball.

Ba'an struggled to its feet. Its body was incredibly durable.

A visible dent had appeared in the top of its skull—clearly the result of Gu You's earlier strike.

"Golden Dragon Spear—go!"

Gu You shouted coldly.

A streak of golden light flashed forth as if it could pierce heaven and earth.

In the blink of an eye it reached Ba'an.

Ba'an instinctively raised its massive claw to block, but the golden light passed straight through the claw and nailed itself into the center between its four eyes.

Ba'an let out a miserable scream.

Immediately, countless streams of dark green energy began rushing toward the golden spear, forcefully drawn out of its body.

Gu You landed on the ground, breathing heavily. In this place, his blood-energy power could not be replenished.

On the other side, Ba'an's massive body trembled violently, trying to break free from the Golden Dragon Spear.

But how could that be possible now?

The dark-green currents dyed the spear the same color, yet Ba'an's enormous body began collapsing, gradually disintegrating until it shattered completely.

The Golden Dragon Spear flashed with golden light again. All the dark green vanished instantly.

In the next moment, it had already returned to Gu You's hand.

Gu You felt a surge of pure energy instantly pour into his body.

This energy did not restore soul power. Instead, it caused his bloodline soul rings to tremble and accelerate their rotation. Within his blood energy, a pure essence had clearly been added.

The Major was already speechless.

Looking at Gu You's back, her gaze was completely blank.

A frontal clash with Ba'an? Close-quarters combat?

Those mysterious golden rings and that monstrous strength…

Was this guy really human?

At that moment, another dark-green figure suddenly flashed out from the central hole, floating in midair.

Gu You frowned slightly.

"They really never stop coming, huh?"

Just as well. The power absorbed and fed back by the Golden Dragon Spear felt wonderful. He wouldn't mind experiencing it a few more times.

Compared to the previous Ba'an, this dark-green figure was much smaller—only about two meters tall, slightly taller than a normal human.

Behind her was a pair of unusual wings resembling those of a bat, though the bones were much larger. The connecting membranes weren't ordinary skin but were covered with dark-green scales.

Her figure resembled that of a human woman, but far more exaggerated. Her chest was extremely full, her waist slender, and her hips disproportionately large. Her eyes burned with ghostly green flames, and spikes covered the ends of her hands and feet.

"Void Queen?"

Gu You narrowed his eyes.

The more he looked at the creature, the more familiar it seemed. And from it, he felt no sense of threat at all.

However, when the Major saw this creature appear, her face instantly turned pale. The shock she had felt from Gu You's strength was suppressed in an instant.

What remained in her heart now was pure fear.

"Mo Mei."

"Human… die."

Mo Mei's cold voice echoed directly inside Gu You's soul.

A glowing rune appeared before her.

In the next moment, Gu You felt his body suddenly become stiff. The life force inside him began draining at an alarming rate.

Without him noticing, a dark-green rune had already formed around his body, rapidly seeping into him.

"Hmph!"

Gu You snorted coldly. The bloodline vortex within his body began spinning wildly.

The Golden Dragon Spear transformed into a golden dragon and shot out at a speed invisible to the naked eye, instantly charging toward Mo Mei.

Mo Mei groaned. The ghostly green flames in her eyes flickered violently…
