Chapter 27 - Chapter 027: Because She Wills It

At first Elizabeth could only passively watch in amazement at the feat of technique perfection however soon realisation of what was happening took over. Worry soon began to fill her as she watched the demon steering them towards the army likely already on the border. Without those powerful archdemons to help!

Hoping her yelling her thoughts could get the message across to the one piloting her body and it did, in fact, cause the divine demon to raise one of Elizabeth's eyebrows.

"Why not…"

Though that didn't mean she was happy with the interruption.

Her voice came out as far more gravely, more akin to a beast growling before letting out an earth shattering roar, causing Elizabeth to quickly remember who she was talking to. If she had her body under her own control she was sure it would be shaking. An instinctive chill passed through her.

So (now that she knew how to convey her thoughts to the one in control of her body) she took the time to carefully consider her thoughts as they ran through the hilly fields. One may think she'd be too scared to ever mention her opinion and she would have been a mere month ago. Now she has learned a lot.

She knew that showing cowardice to a demon like Victory the Divine Demon would grant her no benefits as opposed to being honest.

Still… There was no way she was going to actively offend the unquestionable powerhouse.

"And?"

Uncaring about the implications even when Elizabeth spelt it out.

Victory stopped for a moment as if thinking for a mere second. Only to soon have her lips curl up as well as peel back to reveal her teeth. Turning into a savage grin as she once again continued to walk forward with a snort leaving her nose like a dragon blowing fire.

"Two Archdemons?"

Strangely shaking her head at that comment but she didn't let Elizabeth ponder it for any longer as she soon continued on.

And she wasn't about to ignore the Divine Demon speaking.

"Even in your weak body I can slaughter this world."

Throwing her arms out as if presenting some grand fact that would blow Elizabeth's mind… Truthfully the "human" girl was quite suspicious over that claim rather than being surprised. Thoughts turning towards all the knowledge the progenitor of demon-kind likely knew when it concerned increasing strength.

The demoness either didn't care or notice the incredulity as she began to pick up speed again.

"Though your eyes are weird…"

Elizabeth did not even know where to begin with that comment.

"No; I have a better idea."

Simply snorting at the girls' concern as the two of them quickly were able to see the country's national flag over the summit of the hill they were climbing. Seeing that made Elizabeth's heart jump but that couldn't overcome the anticipation from the usurper. The raw desire flooded through her veins & arteries.

An unbridledly gluttonous hunger for more than a mere excitement for battle like many adventurers are mentioned for having. Instead it was more for the expectation of what would happen to the green fields that they saw as they crested over the peak. Looking down upon the impressive battlements.

In front of it, taking cover in the fort's shadow, was a camp where many people were milling about upon the green field of grass.

For a moment Elizabeth saw a flash.

A brief illusion born from the desire of the demoness inhabiting her flesh.

Gone was the rambunctious laughter.

No more were their peaceful fires where food cooked.

Though there was certainly still fire and meat burning in the brief flickering visions that the ruler of the archdemons had imagined. Scattered limbs strewn about as the tents caught fire. Vibrant meadows turned into a corral of crimson as insides were made outside.

Something strange overtook Elizabeth as she suddenly wanted to stop the demoness even more than before as she saw those men peacefully enjoying their day. Unfortunately those soldiers soon noticed the silver haired girl who stood atop the hill. Shouting ensued but she couldn't hear their voices.

Instead she could only focus on the pain experienced as her cheeks & lips contorted into a smile so viciously savage that a human face was not meant to experience it.

That sadistic monster threw her hands up in the air as if a conductor corralling the instruments into their appropriate places. An abrupt weight, not a long but still noticeable, appeared upon her wrists & ankles as a faint look from the demoness revealed bells with crimson ribbons. Now she could place the feeling.

Without a doubt it was an existential dread and guilt at the realisation that this horror show was one that she had brought into the world.

She was the one who brought this monster to their doorstep.

And she had no intentions to step away till the house had burned down.

"You, girl, what are you doing here?!"

A poor man had hurried up the hill with his uniform obviously hastily put on as he came to talk to the two of them with an equally anxious expression.

"This is the border so quickly turn away now; we have some bigshot around and he seems like the sort that won't let an innocent girl wandering about go unpunished."

Her thoughts seemed to get through to the demoness as that smile grew wider as the man in front of her seemed to finally notice the girl's expression. Anxiousness quickly turned to worry. Realising something wasn't right made him step forward with an outstretched hand as the demoness' eyes slowly fell upon him.

"Punishment for underestimating me, I think."

Sensing the girl's desire to spare the life of the man she moved her hands in a languid fashion. Like a slovenly king dolling out his orders with the expectation that everyone else will follow them without hesitation or else. Bloodlust and fear combined into an intoxicating mixture as they fought for control.

For a brief moment Elizabth even though she managed to take control as a word escaped those drawn back lips as tears fell down her cheeks.

"R-run…"

Confusion overtook the guard before-

*dling*

The death knoll tolled.

That ringing of the bell was not inherently ominous - if anything it was beyond beautiful - but the disaster it brought forth made it more fearsome than any battle cry. At first nothing seemed wrong. However, often it is calmest before and after the greatest of tragedies, life has a way of proving misconceptions wrong.

Bodies all across the camp began to control as silent screams escaped them; random lumps began to form then vanish all across their bodies. As if some monstrous beast had found its way inside their bodies only to desperately thrash around. Trying to find some way to escape without the power to break flesh.

Though the horror just began as many eyes abruptly popped out of place as fountains of blood exploded out as they just so happened to be the easiest escape point.

Either that or the demoness was doing so for her own amusement.

Of course eyes were not the only escape as blood squirted out from just about every pour imaginable with the humans even sweating their own life essence. Nose, mouth, ears, urethra and so on. None were unique in the eyes of the curse cast upon them yet the nightmare still didn't end.

Elizabeth could only silently watch on in horror as the bulging flesh of the nice man in front of her burst with enough force to splatter the demoness painting her silver hair crimson. Organs flooded out of now open cavities while limbs flew all over. This resulted in some fire pits being knocked over.

In turn those fires grew out of control as anything within range caught alight to horrifyingly cause the scent of cooked meat to spread throughout the valley.

The man in front clutched his emptying guts with his one remaining hand while his empty eye sockets stared towards the demoness. Ensuring Elizabeth got to see as that soldier stumbled forwards with his intestines filling up the inside of his uniform. Hearing garbled last words she'd never be able to decipher.

At all this destruction the bloody haired demoness threw her head up only to begin to sing in a language that the girl didn't recognise and didn't want to. No longer resisting the control of the demoness as the realisation took over. She never beat that demon for control but that demon has let her speak.

She let her, for a brief moment, have the illusion she could resist only to use it to drive her into a deeper abyss of despair.

What was once a thriving encampment was now a scene straight out of hell.

Now Elizabeth understood that the vision she was shown was not a mere illusion born from the crippling bloodlust of the strongest demon in existence. No, it was much more, it was a vision born from the very same power. A forcefully made promise that reality could only relent in accepting.

It was her will.

And so reality consented to it.

That demoness soon fjnished as she strutted towards the kneeling man only to kick him over to send his corpse tumbling down the hillside, Painting a crimson road for which she walked down. The gates of the fort opened as more soldiers poured out as if seemingly not believing the reports from the walls.

All of them hurriedly stopped as the true nature of the scene became aware to them; even the hardened veterans could only pause. Those less experienced lost their lunches then and there. There was no one unaffected as the horror was so beyond what a human could do that they couldn't fathom it happening.

She didn't care about that as she slid down the bloody trail till she was within range.

Delivering a punch to the knight who had led the charge only for his head (armour and all) to vanish under the perfectly performed body enhancement. Even Elizabeth, who was in the body responsible, couldn't see that first move. She could only feel that it was a bogstandard jab with nothing extra.

Screaming her thoughts in terror yet able to do anything to stop as the other hand plunged forward into the chest of another man. Holding his heart as it exited through his back only to drop the still connected muscle as it hung there from the arteries and veins. It wasn't even technically lethal.

The man literally died from shock and endured fear at the horror.

Others seemed well on their way to join him as no one moved or spoke - just staring at her with raw unbridledly dread across their faces.

And she LOVED it.

"VIHIHIHIHI~!"

Throwing her arms out once more as if daring someone to challenge her.

Without even needing to fight man after man collapsed their bodies were unable to handle the amount of panic they were under going at her display followed by her goading.

So there she stood in a fielding of burning crimson, hair painted with blood, surrounded by fire.

An absolute in a world of compromise.
