It was obvious from the way the zombies fought that something in them had changed.
Moreover, they weren't fighting like mindless flesh-eating monsters without independent thoughts.
They were more like trained and enhanced war machines. Only, these machines were still in the works because sometimes parts of their bodies would become uncoordinated.
It was as if a robot was being controlled part by part but some parts refused to coordinate well, which revealed weaknesses that could be exploited.
The zombies seemed as if they weren't affected by the cold that made the limbs of the others stiff. They were like well-oiled machines that had no trouble with movement except for the coordination problem.
This meant that the zombies moved faster than the others and also held a higher chance of injuring humans.
If the whole situation was taken into context, if the zombies became faster and more organized in their attacks, then the chances of humans getting hurt would increase.
