The club's noise had long faded, but the echo of that moment refused to die.
That kiss.
Xian Lu stared at his own reflection in the mirror of his penthouse bathroom. Sharp jawline, expensive suit, perfectly calm expression—everything looked the same. Yet something inside him felt … off. His heartbeat was heavier than usual, his chest strangely tight.
He turned the tap on and splashed cold water on his face. "It was just a stupid dare," he muttered to himself. "Forget it."
But the memory of soft lips brushing his lingered.
And that whisper — "Sorry, It was a dare…" — still burned against his ear.
Xian clenched his jaw. "Ridiculous."
He grabbed his phone, trying to focus on emails, on business, on anything. But even in the middle of a meeting, his mind betrayed him—replaying the scene again and again.
The fearless glint in those eyes.
That confident smirk.
And the way he licked his lips right after, like he knew exactly what he'd done.
No one had ever dared to touch Xian Lu that way. No one had ever made his heart race.
He took a deep breath, forcing composure, when a small voice interrupted his thoughts.
"Papa!"
Rui Rui ran into the office, arms open wide. The boy's smile melted every trace of irritation on Xian's face.
"Rui Rui," Xian said, lifting him up. "Shouldn't you be in school?"
"Grandma said I could see you before class!" the little boy giggled, waving his tiny backpack.
Before Xian could reply, his teenage brother Leo Ziyan entered, rolling his eyes.
"You're late again, ge. You promised you'd drive us."
Xian sighed, setting Rui Rui down. "Alright, alright. Let's go."

Later, while the car rolled through morning traffic, Rui Rui chatted about cartoons and Leo hummed along to a song.
But Xian's thoughts drifted elsewhere — to the stranger who'd kissed him.
"Ge," Leo suddenly said, pulling him back. "You're zoning out again. Who are you thinking about?"
"No one," Xian replied too quickly.
Leo smirked. "No one, huh? That's what people say when it's someone."
Xian glared at him, but the boy only laughed.
He looked back out the window, watching the blur of people on the streets.
For some reason, he couldn't help wondering if that man was out there too.
The one bold enough to steal a kiss … and now, somehow, a piece of his peace.
He didn't know his name.
He didn't know why that moment mattered so much.
But he knew one thing — he wanted to see him again.
