Chapter 555: He's Figured It All Out

Embodiments of Disasters—Elder Dragons—couldn't be captured. Nor could they be restrained by traps. For hunters, this was common knowledge.

That was exactly why Steven had been troubled earlier. Even specialized hunter groups could only hold such monsters back with defensive fortifications. Sure, he could manually construct walls and cannons, but that would be far too troublesome.

But when Steven shifted his perspective, everything suddenly clicked.

They couldn't be captured—for hunters.

What did that have to do with him, a Pokémon Master?

Hadn't the supposedly majestic Water-type legendary Suicune once been trapped by something as mundane as a fishing net? If that was possible, then catching a Zorah Magdaros with a Pokéball didn't sound completely impossible, right?

Steven had long wanted a cool mount anyway. He'd been wondering what kind of ride could truly showcase his uniqueness—and now, wasn't one being delivered straight to his doorstep?

And if this Zorah Magdaros really was as large as a moving city… couldn't it simply be treated as one?

If you could build a city on something that could move freely, wasn't that essentially a mobile city in the broadest sense?

Talulah had mentioned needing a place to settle the Infected. Didn't this sound like the perfect ready-made solution?

The more he thought about it, the more reasonable it seemed. Steven snapped his fingers, then grabbed Kal'tsit's hand, ready to drag her along to check out Zorah Magdaros's location immediately.

"I don't know what you just thought of, but judging from your expression, it's definitely a bold idea. Even so, before we go, we need to confirm the location—and let me contact a few relevant parties, alright?"

Kal'tsit glanced down at the hand gripping hers. She didn't pull away, instead calmly making her suggestion.

This matter involved too many variables. Even if Steven had a solution, she needed to prepare contingencies—at the very least, she had to contact certain Beast Lords.

"You're right. Searching blindly would be troublesome. A precise location would save me the trouble of combing the coastline."

Steven nodded, releasing her hand and switching his teleport destination from Ursus back to Lungmen.

Now he had the time to track down the Sankta and ask for coordinates. Bringing Kal'tsit along would also mean Rhodes Island was formally stepping into the situation.

"Give me a few minutes. I'll bring someone with us. If we're heading to Lungmen first, we might even pick up a few helpers along the way."

Kal'tsit hurried out of the office, leaving Steven alone to refine his spontaneous plan.

First, he couldn't be certain whether a Pokéball could capture Zorah Magdaros. Worst case, he could try battling it first and subdue it before attempting capture.

And if that failed, exchanging for a Master Ball would still cost far fewer points than using a black hole to swallow the thing whole.

Besides, who knew—maybe the Zorah Magdaros could communicate? If so, he might persuade it to enter the ball willingly in exchange for preserving its life.

After all, who truly wanted to die if they had a chance to live?

At the end of the day, Zorah Magdaros was still a living creature. The desire to survive must exist.

And in that sense, he'd gain his own mobile city. If he ever decided to raise a banner and establish a new nation on this land, he'd already have the most fundamental capital to do so.

While Steven was busy imagining the future, Kal'tsit had already contacted the people she needed. Soon after, she returned with a familiar figure at her side.

"I knew it'd be you. In all of Rhodes Island, you're probably the only one qualified to know about this."

Looking at the white-haired girl with tattooed arms—still half-asleep, eyes barely open—Steven nodded, as if this was exactly what he expected.

"Let me make this clear first. I can't show myself in Lungmen. If Yan's people spot me, it'll cause trouble. And about that monster you mentioned… why do I have zero memory of it?"

The girl called Nian yawned and raised a finger, laying down her condition. From her reaction, it was obvious she didn't quite believe Steven.

A mobile giant beast capable of blowing up the entire continent? Even she had never heard of such a thing. Not even her former self—the terrifying Sui that once made all of Yan tremble—had encountered anything like that.

In other words, this was on a scale even Sui itself couldn't achieve. How could something so absurd exist?

"I wasn't planning to bring you. That was Kal'tsit's idea. Whether it's real or not, you'll understand once you see it."

Not wanting to repeat himself, Steven casually pulled out two Pokéballs and aimed them at the two of them.

"For now, get in the ball."

. . .

Lungmen — Penguin Logistics Headquarters

Exusiai, the red-haired Sankta, was sharing snacks with a black-haired Lupo girl. The other two members lounged lazily on the sofa, enjoying a blissful afternoon nap.

Mostima, who had just been brought back, sat quietly on a barstool, propping her cheek on one hand, lost in thought.

Then, a familiar, stylish West Coast–style BGM began to play. A short, plump figure waddled out from behind the bar.

The outfit that clashed with the atmosphere, the sunglasses, the gold chain—all unmistakably announced the newcomer's identity.

There was probably only one penguin in all of Lungmen that fashionable and rock-and-roll.

The boss of Penguin Logistics—who had supposedly been blown into fried chicken—walked over with his round body swaying. The penguin known as Emperor grabbed an expensive-looking bottle of whiskey with his flippers and sat down across from Mostima.

"Alright, spill it. Kal'tsit shipped you back here, so it must be something important. Let me guess—what kind of intel was worth blowing me up to get?"

The penguin's beak opened and closed, speaking perfectly standard Terra common language. But his tone clearly showed he hadn't quite gotten over his last "death."

"Kal'tsit said that once you hear this, you'll regret it. She said you're the type who hates trouble."

Facing her boss, Mostima showed no surprise at his miraculous return, nor did she answer directly. Instead, she seriously relayed Kal'tsit's message first.

"Tch! When have I ever been afraid of trouble? Just say it."

As a penguin with dignity, Emperor clearly couldn't accept being looked down upon. He set aside the whiskey and shot her a look, urging her to continue.

"She also predicted you'd react like that. She said you wouldn't be able to resist asking me again."

"Are you working for her or for me? Quit dangling it—tell me already."

Emperor shot the girl in front of him an annoyed glance. As one of Penguin Logistics' unofficial members, Mostima always seemed to have a few extra rebellious streaks compared to the others.

Not that the rest didn't have their own quirks—Mostima just had more.

"Alright, you asked for it, boss. This concerns a mobile mining mountain the size of a mobile city. The ore it produces could rival Originium in terms of energy—"

"—Okay, okay, stop right there. I didn't hear anything. You didn't say anything. Let's keep it that way."

Before Mostima could finish, Emperor cut her off. Covering his forehead with his short flippers, he completely lost the will to listen the moment he heard "mobile mine" and "energy."

This wasn't intel—it was a hot potato. No wonder Kal'tsit had sent her back. If Rhodes Island couldn't handle it, how was a small logistics company like his supposed to?

"See? That's exactly the reaction Miss Kal'tsit predicted. You already regret asking."

Not bothering to save her boss any face, Mostima suppressed a smile and withdrew the unfinished explanation.

"That's enough. She just loves taking shots at me—sending you back just to laugh at me. If she were here, I'd definitely show her a thing or two."

Emperor retorted stubbornly. After all, Kal'tsit wasn't here—he had nothing to worry about.

But just as he thought that, footsteps echoed, and a familiar green figure appeared at the entrance of Penguin Logistics.

"And what exactly were you planning to show me?"
