Two minutes later—still in the infirmary.
Having traded her divine battle armor for ordinary civilian clothes, Raphaeline sat on a chair beside the desk. She cradled a disposable paper cup in both hands, steam curling up as she took small sips of tea that was finally the right temperature.
Naturally, the newly rescued Raphaeline didn't have spare clothes. What she was wearing now came from Hasegawa Chisato's emergency backups kept at school.
And because of that, Raphaeline set her cup down every few sips, tugging at the oversized fabric with a deeply dissatisfied frown. The extra cloth hung loose around her chest, making her look oddly hollow and wilted. She muttered complaints the entire time.
"Moo~ Seriously… why are Afureia's clothes so huge? This feels weird. It's all drafty around my chest."
"That can't be helped. Just bear with it for now, Sis."
Chisato's voice came from the doorway to the back rest area.
Raphaeline looked over to see the school nurse stepping out after finishing up inside—straightening the bedding, then pulling the white curtain closed before returning to the main room.
Chisato walked back toward the desk, took in her sister's continued tugging and sour expression, and let out a gentle sigh.
"At least endure it until my shift ends. Tonight, after we're home, I'll buy you new clothes. And that 'drafty' feeling is normal, because you aren't wearing underwear."
"Underwear…? What's that?"
A few tiny question marks might as well have floated over Raphaeline's head.
"This," Chisato said, without hesitation.
She slipped off her white coat, lifted the hem of her fitted green sleeveless sweater, and—right in front of her sister—briefly revealed black lace lingerie underneath.
"Uwah! Enough, enough—put it down! Put it down!"
One glance was all it took. Raphaeline's face heated instantly. She set her cup down and waved both hands frantically, begging Chisato to cover herself again.
"Why are you reacting like that, Sis?" Chisato lowered the sweater hem and tilted her head, genuinely confused. "It's just us here. No one else is watching."
"Just us… except—"
Raphaeline's cheeks turned a deeper red as her eyes flicked, cautious and mortified, toward the young man seated nearby, calmly sipping his tea.
But Chisato's voice followed immediately, as if she'd already predicted the glance.
"Bokue is not a problem. He's already seen everything about me." She said it like it was the most ordinary fact in the world. "And like I told you earlier—Bokue is my husband."
"I… I understand, but still…"
Raphaeline trailed off, caught between embarrassment and confusion.
"You mean it's too bold?" Chisato folded her arms, which only emphasized her already striking figure, then leaned forward until her lips were near Raphaeline's ear. "Then I'll warn you: the boldest thing here is actually you—because you're wearing nothing underneath at all."
Raphaeline froze.
"There's even a term for it nowadays," Chisato continued in a whisper, thoughtful as she searched her memory. "Let me see… yes. 'Going commando,' I think."
"Eh…?"
Raphaeline's face locked in place.
Th-there's a term for that?? And how does she even know it??
She'd been sealed away for decades, and even before that, the divine realm rarely paid attention to human customs unless something world-shaking happened. Most of the time, the Ten Gods kept to themselves.
Not out of pride—out of practicality.
Even with their power, they weren't invincible in the human world. Northern Europe alone hosted Asgard's pantheon under Odin, and Heaven's faction under the Biblical God—both far above what the Ten Gods could casually oppose.
Even after the Tripartite War—after the Biblical God's death and Heaven's decline—they still remained beyond the Ten Gods' reach.
From the divine realm's perspective, the best strategy had always been defensive isolation: wait for Ragnarök to conclude, wait for Heaven and the underworld to clash again, and only then consider expanding into Northern European territory.
Because of that, Raphaeline's understanding of the human world had essentially stopped more than a thousand years ago.
Back then… the idea of modern underwear wasn't even part of her world.
Those were later imports… from somewhere else.
"Wait," Raphaeline said suddenly, remembering something. "Earlier you said 'until work ends'… what does that mean? And when does work end?"
Chisato spent the next couple of minutes patiently explaining jobs, working hours, and what "getting off shift" meant. When she finished, she glanced up at the wall clock.
"For me, about three more hours. After that, I go back to our place at Keystone Gate. Then I'll take you shopping for proper clothes, Sis."
"Keystone Gate…" Raphaeline repeated, intrigued. "That sounds important. What kind of place is it?"
"Itogami Island's largest shopping center," Bokue answered, setting his teacup down as he spoke.
"Itogami… Island?"
Raphaeline's confusion deepened.
Again, it wasn't her fault. The Ten Gods' faction was operating with hopelessly outdated information—and Itogami Island itself had only existed for about half a century.
"It's complicated to explain," Bokue said with a shrug. "If you live here for a while, you'll understand naturally. For now, just think of it as a small island in Asia."
Then he added, casually:
"As for me, I'm the master of this island. I technically own it outright… though most of the time I don't bother managing anything directly."
"Eh~"
Raphaeline made an impressed sound, nodding like she'd just been told a myth.
Watching her sister talk with Bokue from the side, Chisato thought for a moment—then made a sudden suggestion.
"Speaking of which, starting tomorrow… Sis, why don't you help me out here in the infirmary?" she said. "You'll get bored alone at home, and working here will help you learn how the world is now."
"Mm… sure. That's fine."
Raphaeline agreed almost immediately.
Chisato's expression softened into quiet satisfaction. Then she looked at Bokue.
Her glance translated perfectly clearly:
You're coming tomorrow too.
And, before Sis notices… I can teach her properly about the "final lesson" of being a woman~ ♡
