My Charming Demon Lord, unfortunately, had been written in first person, with the point of view only being on the main character, Han Seo-yoon. The thing about this kind of writing was that it was quite limiting. You could only see things from her lens, and the story focused more on what she was doing, what she was feeling, and her background.
Very rarely were we able to see what Baek Junghwa was thinking or feeling. Though he was a fascinating character to read, most of the time, he felt very surface-level. One-dimensional.
It was one of the reasons why Lee Wooyun had a hard time dealing with him—well, his personality didn't make it any easier, but still. Readers never got the chance to see things from his perspective or learn more about his backstory, what made Baek Junghwa. To Wooyun, he was always an immortal being who couldn't be defeated or brought down.
