"What's wrong? Did you notice something?", Konan saw the change in Karin's expression.
Karin pouted, sounding a bit wronged, "There… there's a barrier. I can't sense anything."
She knew this barrier very well. It was exactly the same as the one she had sensed in this house before, and it was obvious that Aoba had set it.
"A barrier?", Konan and the others immediately understood what was going on.
If something needed to be hidden behind a barrier, it could only mean it wasn't convenient for others to know.
Clatter!
The sound of a ceramic bowl hitting the floor rang out, followed by shattering.
"Sorry, I got distracted."
Kin finally reacted, quickly kneeling down to clean up the mess.
Only, when she lowered her head, her fist tightened, and her face was already full of gritted-teeth anger.
'That wicked, sneaky cat.'
Temari also frowned, but she was already mentally counting dates.
'Next year is close. Only a few more months remain.'
"Looks like Aoba probably won't come back tonight."
They had expected this already, so Uzuki Yugao just made a single remark and left it at that.
Konan, however, was not only surprised but mostly worried.
'It should be Yugito's first time. Can she really handle someone as terrifying as Aoba?'
She originally wanted to let Yugao and Shizune suffer for a bit, but she never expected Yugito to be the one suffering first.
"This…", Karin looked at everyone's oddly calm expressions and felt a bit lost.
"Yugao-nee, aren't you angry?"
She decided to ask the household's "first wife."
Uzuki Yugao raised an eyebrow and looked at Karin with interest, "Why should I be angry?"
"This, this, this…"
Karin was even more confused, 'Is Yugao-nee really not angry even in a situation like this?'
"Or is it that Karin actually knows what Aoba and Yugito are doing right now?", Uzuki Yugao asked with a smile.
"They're obviously…", Karin stopped mid-sentence and didn't say the rest aloud.
Everyone already knew.
Except clearly one person.
"What are they doing?", Fu asked innocently.
To her, even kissing counted as something extremely intense.
"It's fine if you don't know," Kurotsuchi thought a girl as innocent as Fu should stay untainted as long as possible.
"Ah!"
Fu looked confused, but the next moment she suddenly flopped backward onto the sofa.
Kurotsuchi climbed off the sofa.
"Fu, you still have school tomorrow. Go back and sleep," Kurotsuchi pulled Fu away.
Karin had no time to care about them. After being silent for a while, the lost look on her face slowly transformed into determination.
"Yugao-nee, are you really not angry?"
"Hm?"
Uzuki Yugao looked puzzled, but she still nodded, "If it were you, Karin, I still wouldn't be angry."
"Then I'm going home!", Karin said that and ran out too.
But she still stopped at the door, glanced at Yugito's brightly lit house, then ran to her own.
Uzuki Yugao blinked.
'What is that girl planning?'
———
Inside Yugito's house.
The two of them had absolutely no idea what was happening outside.
Outside, a cool autumn wind rustled softly, peaceful and quiet.
Inside, spring thunder rolled like chaos on a battlefield.
Deep in the heat of passion, Aoba would sometimes shout "Nee-san" to set the mood. According to Yugito's request, they were technically still on a date.
And Yugito occasionally showed a bit of tsundere flair, trying to steal the upper hand.
The air was scorching hot, but neither of them felt stifled or tired.
Birds resting in the forest, a fish diving deep into the abyss.
———
The next day.
Aoba didn't wake up until noon.
Outside the window, sunlight was blazing. The room, simple and pure in style, was unusually neat and clean.
On the narrow bed, the blanket with cute cat patterns was pushed up in a high mound.
Yugito's pale shoulders peeked out in a graceful curve. One of Aoba's arms held her warm, smooth body, while the other supported his forehead as he stared at the unfamiliar ceiling.
'Ah, right. This is Yugito's room.'
They had started on the sofa last night, but later the sofa couldn't take it and broke.
So they switched battlefields and even took a bath together.
The bed was narrow, but it barely worked.
Aoba turned his head, looking at Yugito hugging his arm tightly, her lips curved in a satisfied smile, her pale shoulder showing a soft arc.
Normally, Yugito would never have held out this long, but she wasn't an ordinary person.
When her cat tail came out later, she even tried to flip the heavens and show her queenly side, but Aoba forced her back down again.
Even so, he had held back, worried she might have a bad experience.
Perhaps sensing Aoba's gaze, Yugito's long, beautiful lashes trembled slightly. She slowly opened her eyes, clear as an autumn lake, then flushed red.
"Ao… Aoba, good morning."
Aoba chuckled softly, "It's not really morning anymore. How do you feel?"
Yugito's delicate face bloomed into a deeper blush. She thought he was asking about last night.
"Very comfortable."
The blanket wriggled a bit, and her soft, pale arms wrapped around Aoba. Her tiny head ducked shyly into the covers, then after pressing against his broad chest, she let out a silly little laugh.
Aoba's expression turned a bit odd. It felt like all of Yugito's usual pride had been wiped away last night.
She was like a clingy little cat now.
After a while of cuddling, a rumbling "grr grr" came from under the blanket.
Aoba blinked and looked at the girl poking her head out again.
Yugito glared at him in shy annoyance, then whispered pitifully.
"Hungry."
Aoba burst out laughing.
"Then let's get up. Kin should have breakfast ready."
He loosened his hold on her and got up to dress.
Yugito tried to get up too, but the moment she moved, her legs gave out and she fell back onto the bed.
"Still hurts?"
Aoba sat by the bed, worried, his voice gentle, "Do you want me to heal you?"
Before he finished speaking, Yugito puffed up her pale cheeks, "It doesn't hurt. I just don't have any strength. And at a time like this, I definitely don't need healing."
Aoba thought she was just being stubborn.
He understood what she meant. Shizune and the others had been like this before. But he still thought it was totally unnecessary.
Still, Yugito insisted, and he couldn't do anything about it.
"Then I'll bring you something to eat."
"No!"
Yugito refused again, her face turning even redder.
Her round little toes wriggled shyly under the blanket, and she stretched her hand toward Aoba.
"You carry me over."
