Noah had expected many things while taking the cradle, but he had overestimated himself.
He stared at the inside of the cradle with overwhelming horror. His eyes widened in shock, seeing a sight so obscene that his own soul was being corroded, poisoned.
Beside him, Gaia suddenly became eerily silent. Her previous cry of anger faded away into silence, her face now bearing once more her foxy smile.
"So predictable." She tittered, holding a hand over her mouth like a young, shy maiden. "You are so predictable, little Brandon. Do you really think I wouldn't know the downside of my own game?"
Noah was unable to talk, his eyes transfixed by the twisting mass of flesh in front of him.
The cradle was, in fact, a womb.
The womb of Gaia, the Mother of Reality. The Ultimate Progenitor.
Everything came from her, and everything shall return to her.
