Chapter 12 - Lust's 1st Carnation

Black mist exited the princess, and for the first time, Rosus lost her air of arrogance.

For the first time, Casamir saw evil. The black mist formed and coalesced into another being. A woman, her skin shone like a star. The mist covered the woman's lower body, leaving her breasts exposed. Casamir felt a heavy blush come to his face as the woman turned.

Her face was triangular, her eyes piercing and blue. She looked upon Casamir with reverence and desire. Casamir had never faced such a being, and she grinned at him.

She spoke, "Your blade is better than you are aware, Artist. Be careful in its keeping... One day we might meet again... For now, I have fed enough. Unless... you'd like to feed me something...else?"

Casamir's jaw tightened. He stepped forward; he could feel the heat coming from the woman in the mist. She was stunning, light itself seemed to dance around her. He moved and felt the mist embrace him. A warmth flooded him, and he began to breathe heavy as he moved closer.

She was something else.

The woman's hand reached toward him. Grabbing him and pulling him ever so close. Her lips were so close. Then Casamir remembered his purpose. He was Young Dico, guided only by the Voice. No other would be allowed.

This was one of the sins. A lust, only upon the body did such evil thrive. Casamir suddenly gripped his blade and pushed away. Grabbing the princess from the woman's hand.

"I need nothing from you, for I am one with the Voice."

The woman laughed, but it was hollow. Lacking anything special, nothing real was in it.

"Alright, young artist... I will see you again... perhaps in mine own chambers..?"

Casamir shook his head violently; he would not see this woman. Whatever evil she was born from, he would not meet her again.

"Begone!"

Casamir opened the door, his blade pointed at the woman, who simply dissipated into mist, and from mist into air. Casamir moved quickly towards the ballroom, with the Lady Rosus in hand. As he dragged her along, she awoke.

She grabbed Casamir's arm and used her body weight to twist him away from her. She fell on the floor, and dizziness overtook her.

"Who are you?"

"Casamir, they call me. I have won your hand in marriage, my lady."

Lady Rosus laughed, her eyes filled with mirth. She did not believe him whatsoever.

She spoke, "Impossible, I am only fourteen. My father would not marry so early."

Casamir's confusion became visible. Then he realized there was about to be a major problem.

He asked, "What is it you remember last?"

"I was out in the city, and suddenly I fell feverishly ill."

Casamir heard the footsteps of the guards. The Lady was not in a state to deal with both him and the guards. So Casamir left her sitting on the floor and ran. Something had happened to the Lady over six years previously.

It was now his job to figure it out.
