–Sophia–
It's been two weeks.
So much has happened in such a short time—and now, my baby is already fourteen weeks inside me.
Fourteen.
The doctor finally allowed me to come in.
I was sanitized from head to toe—hair tucked under a disposable net, gloves snug against my skin, a thin hospital gown rustling softly with every movement. A face mask covered half of me, but it couldn't hide the way I was trembling.
I walked toward him slowly.
My husband.
My loving, handsome husband.
God… I missed him.
His laugh. His teasing. The way he always filled every room with warmth and chaos at the same time.
I reached for his hand—the one untouched by injury—and gently lifted it.
Carefully… so carefully…
I placed it over my stomach.
"Kai… wake up," I whispered, my voice soft but desperate. "Kai, it's Sophia."
My throat tightened.
"Wake up, babe," I continued. "Guess what… I'm pregnant."
I let out a shaky breath.
"Our long-awaited blessing…"
