Now that the departure time had been set, he had a few days left to let his Pokémon relax as much as they wanted.

He granted Marill's wish to eat to her heart's content at every meal and snack.

In fact, this led the researchers at the Research Lab to follow Marill around with clipboards, observing her the whole time.

They had simply never seen a Marill that could eat so much. In their words, she had 'extremely high research value'.

Perhaps because she could feel the group's burning gazes, Marill's appetite would drop sharply the moment she wasn't leaning on Luther or Mai.

He also fulfilled Jumpluff and Vileplume's wish to have a sparring match.

Almost every Pokémon in the Research Lab's grasslands, along with the free researchers, gathered to watch.

Under everyone's gaze, Jumpluff and Vileplume began their battle. The fight was intense, but Jumpluff was at a disadvantage in terms of typing.

Vileplume, being a Grass and Poison type, was able to shut down all of Jumpluff's STAB Grass-type moves.

Although Jumpluff was a Flying type, the only Flying-type move she knew was Aerial Ace.

Thanks to the perfect weather today, Vileplume gained a speed boost with Chlorophyll, while Jumpluff's Leaf Guard blocked all the status conditions Vileplume attempted to inflict.

Because of all this, the battle turned into a fierce stalemate. Every time either Pokémon pulled off a brilliant attack, the onlookers erupted with exclamations of "Woah!"

In the end, there was no winner. They both fought until their stamina was completely drained and they were unable to use a single move. They simply leaned against each other and began pushing each other away like bulls.

The researchers, all with black lines on their foreheads, joined Luther in separating Vileplume and Jumpluff, thus ending the battle.

Luther knew that Jumpluff wanted to fulfil a wish of her own, or perhaps untie a knot in her heart.

One of the reasons she had left with Luther in the first place was that she was no match for Vileplume.

Although Luther had never seen the battle in which she was defeated, based on her stubborn determination, he could imagine how devastating that fight must have been.

Jumpluff had once missed her chance to follow Cynthia, but this time she wouldn't miss Luther. Through her journey with him, she had finally achieved her goal.

Even if she didn't win, she was far stronger than she had been back then.

Jumping out of Luther's arms, Jumpluff walked up to Vileplume. Everyone feared that this was the start of another battle, but the two Pokémon unexpectedly hugged each other at the same time and began chattering happily.

That pure, heartfelt smile couldn't be faked. Luther let out a sigh of relief and stepped aside with the researchers, making space for the two Pokémon.

Chikorita's wish was strange, but it was granted, this time with Vileplume's help.

She led a flock of Oddish and Gloom, swaying back and forth across the grassland and imitating Vileplume's usual routine of tending to the field and maintaining order among the Pokémon.

Whether it was because of Vileplume's reputation or Chikorita's talent was unclear, but when she copied Vileplume's authoritative manner, the Research Lab's Pokémon obeyed her without question and followed her lead.

Vileplume was so curious that she circled Chikorita, watching her for a long time. Several times, her huge petals bumped into Chikorita's head before Vileplume realised that she had been spacing out.

Houndoom's wish was simple: he just wanted to sleep peacefully in the shade for a whole day.

Milcery's wish was extremely easy to fulfil. Sachiko contributed her breakfast milk and the researchers contributed the cream they used for making cakes. They mixed everything together in a certain ratio and poured it into a large wooden bucket.

Seeing the bucket filled with all her favourite things, Milcery happily leapt off Luther's shoulder and swam around joyfully in it.

She swam and ate at the same time, absolutely delighted, while Marill, who was drooling non-stop, stared at her from the side.

To prevent any 'accidents', Sachiko stood beside the barrel, monitoring Milcery and intimidating the Marill who was 'thinking about the pot while eating from her bowl'.

Chansey's wish was a little puzzling, but Luther still granted it.

A frying pan wouldn't cost much, if Chansey wanted one, he'd buy it.

But that wasn't the end. She grabbed Luther and Mai, tugged the half-asleep Houndoom over to light a fire for her and then, under the curious gaze of the researchers, pulled out the Nutrient Egg she had been carrying in her pouch.

She expertly cracked the egg, poured the mixture into the pan and gave Houndoom a light pat on the head to signal that she wanted him to turn up the fire a little.

Everyone then witnessed a scene that left them completely stunned: Chansey flicked the frying pan with her tiny hands, tossing the omelette into the air and flipping it in mid-air before catching it cleanly back in the pan.

The researchers stared wide-eyed at Chansey, then at Luther.

'Why are you looking at me? I don't know how to do that either!'

Luther was genuinely dumbfounded.

When did she learn to do that? From Mai?

She did know how to cook, but flashy moves like this weren't her style.

Could it be Candice's Delibird?!

Far away in Snowpoint City, the Delibird preparing the food sneezed. Scratching its head in confusion, it flipped the frying pan, neatly turning the ingredients over.

The whole place erupted in cheers, Chansey was just too cool.

One Nutrient Egg became several omelettes. Everyone present got a share, and even the researchers got to taste Chansey's cooking.

Luther and Mai couldn't help but hug Chansey, who was now standing with her hands on her hips and a clear "Praise me!" expression on her face.

It looked like he'd be able to wake up to a hot breakfast every morning from now on.

Kirlia's wish was to bring delicious food to certain Pokémon.

Ever since the incident at the Pokémon Centre, the Twinleaf Town Pokémon Centre had been temporarily shut down. It would only reopen after maintenance by the Pokémon League.

All the Pokémon from the centre had been relocated to the Research Lab, where they would be raised and cared for.

Luther crouched down and patted Kirlia on the head, smiling.

"I only hate Shiran. I don't want to remember anything related to him. But I don't hate the Pokémon from the Pokémon Centre."

Holding Kirlia in his arms, he headed with the researchers to the area set aside for the Pokémon Centre Pokémon to live temporarily.

Because Kirlia had evolved, the other Pokémon didn't recognise her at first. Kirlia distributed food among them, explaining things non-stop. Only then did the Pokémon from the Centre grow curious and gather around her.

Luther stood to the side, taking pictures as one Pokémon after another crowded around Kirlia, sniffing her to confirm her scent before hugging her joyfully.

When it was time to leave, Kirlia waved vigorously to her old companions.

The future Pokémon Centre would definitely be better than before, even doubling in size, this information came from Bertha.

With that expansion, these Pokémon would undoubtedly receive better care.

The infiltration incident caused by that ragtag group had damaged the reputation of the Pokémon League, and this reconstruction was the League's way of compensating Twinleaf Town.

Eevee and Pachirisu had an unusual wish. They pointed at the Tauros herd and gestured for a long time before Mai finally believed that they really wanted to do it.

After coaxing the Tauros herd with Pokémon food for a while and gaining the approval of the herd leader, Eevee and Pachirisu each jumped onto the back of a Tauros, clinging tightly on.

A loud bellow echoed across the land. The ground began to tremble. The entire Tauros herd charged forward at full speed towards Luther and Mai, overwhelming them with their momentum.

Dust filled the air so thickly that Luther could barely see ahead. By the time his vision cleared, Eevee, Pachirisu and the Tauros were already gone.

It wasn't until sunset that the two exhilarated Pokémon returned to the Research Lab, escorted by the Tauros herd.

The experience had been far too fresh and exciting for them. Even after dismounting, they were still dizzy and felt like doing it all over again.

Corsola's wish was also granted, she wanted a whole pool to herself so that she could splash around however she liked.

However, falling asleep in the pool and nearly missing dinner probably wasn't part of her wish.

Slowpoke also missed dinner. After searching half the area, they finally found him by a small stream.

Slowpoke, Magikarp and Psyduck were sitting there, staring blankly at each other and forming a perfectly balanced triangle of stupidity.

Unable to tolerate it any longer, Eevee did what Corsola should have done. She head-butted Slowpoke, sending him flying, and then called Chansey over to help drag him back.

Mai wanted to know what Slowpoke's wish was, but no matter how she asked or how much she squished his face, he just gave her the same blank expression.
