Chapter 4 - Chapter-4 Hanamitchi

Keifer's POV

She looks so beautiful! I still regret the day I let her go. I wish I hadn't agreed to let her transfer to another section. I wish she was still with me now, still mine.

My fists clenched when I saw her with that man—the man she chose over me. She was smiling so happily, while the guy she was with just looked so punchable.

Every time I see them together, I want to punch Aries. He stole Ella from me. He poisoned everyone's minds and made us look like trash — like our section was worthless.

If only you knew who you were messing with, Michael Aries Fernandez.

You'll regret the day you set foot in this school.

Jay-jay's POV

Haaayyy!!! Here I go again! Heading back into the den of these Ulupongs.

When I got to the room, nothing was happening yet. Keifer still wasn't there—I haven't seen him. That's fine, though. I don't care about him.

The earlier classes went by peacefully. I managed to catch up on the lessons. The King of the Ulupongs still hadn't shown up.

Lunchtime came. I knew they would steal my food again, and I didn't want to go to the cafeteria, so I brought rice and some snacks from home.

But where am I going to eat?

I remembered that this building has a second floor, but the stairs are blocked by a bunch of stuff. Well, I had nowhere else to go. No choice!

I left the room and walked toward the stairs. There were a lot of things piled up, but there was still enough space for me to squeeze through.

I pushed my way past the clutter. With every step I took, mosquitoes flew out. Ugh, I hope I don't catch dengue here.

When I reached the second floor, I peeked around to see if anyone was there.

I sat on the stairs and took out my food. I quietly chewed while thinking about my lessons—and, of course, why their president wasn't in class today.

"Hey!"

"Pfffftttt... Animal!" I spat out the food I was chewing in shock at the sudden yell.

I turned to see who the hell that was. It was Keifer—the president and king of the snakes. I thought he wasn't here today!

It seemed like he had been hanging out on the second floor all along.

I shot him a glare. "You idiot—"

"Whatever..." He suddenly sat next to me and looked at my food.

"...What's your lunch?"

"None of your business!"

"Tss. I'm trying to be nice here!" he snapped.

I felt a bit embarrassed, so I lowered my head. Okay, I guess I was being rude.

"Tss. Fried asuhos," I answered.

I didn't even get a proper meal cooked—I just grabbed whatever was left from this morning... or was it from last night?

I was stunned when he suddenly grabbed my lunchbox.

"Whatever it is... I'll just have some," he said and took a bite of rice and viand.

I just stared at him, my mouth hanging open. He seemed like a completely different person. It was obvious he was hungry from the way he was chewing so fast.

After taking one or two bites, he handed my lunchbox back.

"Before you say I'm a freeloader."

I didn't say anything. I just took a few more bites myself and then handed the lunchbox back to him.

He looked surprised at first but then took it.

"You look hungry," I said.

It was like we were playing a game—taking turns eating. He would eat, then I would.

Honestly, it was a bit gross since we were sharing utensils, but at this point, we were both hungry. No complaints when it comes to food.

To be honest, Keifer looked like a rich kid. His skin was fair and smooth, and his presence was really strong. I could also tell that he had a well-built body.

I also noticed he had an earring on his right ear. It was so small that it was barely visible.

For real though? This ulupong is actually handsome!

"Stop staring at me!"

I snapped back to reality when he shouted.

"W-was I staring?" I played dumb.

"No... You were ST-AR-ING," he clarified.

I suddenly felt embarrassed about what I did. I could even feel my cheeks heating up. What is this? Why am I feeling shy around this jerk?!

I cleared my throat to shake off the nervousness.

"S-so, why didn't you come to class earlier?" I asked, changing the topic.

"No reason... why? Did you miss me?"

My eyes widened at what he said. What did he just say?! the nerve!

"Ha?! AS IF!"

He suddenly laughed. I don't know why, but he looked even more handsome when he laughed.

"S-so why didn't you buy food from the cafeteria?" I changed the topic again.

"We're not allowed in there."

Huh? Is that even possible?

"Why? Since when were students banned from the cafeteria?"

His expression suddenly turned serious.

"For a long time now... We're just not allowed there."

He suddenly stood up and started walking down the stairs.

"Hey! Wait!" I called after him.

But he seemed to have gone deaf. He completely ignored me and left for good.

I cleaned up our food containers and went down as well. What's his problem? Is he possessed? Bipolar? Mentally unstable? What a weirdo!

When I got back to the room, the whole class looked like wilted vegetables. They were all so lifeless, as if they hadn't eaten lunch.

I sat in my seat. I didn't see Keifer. It looked like he really wasn't coming to class.

While waiting, I suddenly remembered I still had some snacks in my bag.

I took out a bag of Loaded, and to my shock, my classmates looked like crazy dogs drooling all over the place. Do these guys have rabies?

I moved the Loaded in my hand, and their heads followed it.

"This is fun!"

I took out another bag of Loaded from my bag and threw it at them with full force. They went wild like lions fighting over prey.

Hahaha. They look so stupid!

Felix approached me. "Don't you have the big ones? I'm really hungry," he said while pouting.

I felt a little sorry for him, so I handed him the Nova I brought.

Good thing my Jansport bag is spacious so I could fit a lot of food inside. Hehehe.

I threw more snacks at my classmates, but I suddenly stopped when someone shouted.

"WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE?!"

We all turned to look at the door. Standing there was a guy as big as Keifer, wearing glasses, with red hair, and carrying a gym bag.

"There's Sakuragi!"

"Idiot! Hanamitchi!"

"He's carrying something!"

"He's got food!"

I glanced at Felix, who was staring seriously at the guy at the door—whom they called Hanamitchi or Sakuragi. Wait… isn't that from an anime?

"Pre…" Felix greeted, but the guy just stared back at him.

He handed the gym bag he was carrying to one of our classmates. The guy immediately took it, and they swarmed around it at the back.

He looked at me with his eyebrows completely furrowed. He looked terrifying when he stared, even though he wore glasses; he was just like Keifer. I quickly hid behind Felix.

"Who's that?" he asked, still looking at me.

"J-Jay-jay… transferee," Felix answered.

He scanned the room as if looking for someone. "Where's Keifer? Does he know about this?"

"Y-yeah…" Felix scratched the back of his head. "She's been here since yesterday."

"And Keifer didn't do anything?!" His tone was laced with anger.

Is it really such a big deal that I'm here?!

"Well… he did, but—"

"But she still hasn't left!"

He was really mad now. What's his problem with me? What's so wrong about me being here?

"You!" He called out to me. "…Why are you still here?"

I couldn't answer. He was scary. His aura was same like Keifer's. Are they related or something?

"And why are you treating my classmates like dogs?!"

Hey! That's not true! I was just having fun with them.

"N-no, I wasn't—"

"Then what do you call what you're doing?!"

"I was giving them food."

He turned to his classmates.

He turned to look at our classmates."You've been gone for days… We've barely had lunch," one of them explained.

"Keifer didn't do anything?" the red-haired guy asked.

Why does he keep asking about Keifer?

"You know him," Felix replied.

"Tss." That was all he said before he sat down at the back.

I immediately turned to Felix. "Who is he?" I whispered.

"That's Yuri Hanamitchi… our classmate—well, yours now too."

"Why is he only showing up now?"

"He was suspended… He went to the cafeteria, and we're not allowed there."

Oh, right. I almost forgot about that.

"What do you mean you're not allowed? I don't get it."

He chuckled a little. "Sorry, Jay, it's not my story to tell."

Ugh! I couldn't get anything out of Felix. I was dying of curiosity over this whole "banned from the cafeteria" thing.

And now, on top of that, that red-haired guy just straight-up want me gone.

Is his hair color natural?

I wanted to ask Felix more, but our teacher had already arrived.

So annoying! I was so eager to know the story behind it.

Mrs. Zaragoza started teaching. Just like before, she approached me again to ask a question.

"Jay, have you chosen a section yet?"

The room fell silent. I glanced behind me. They were all pretending to look straight ahead.

I turned back to Ma'am. "N-not yet, ma'am."

"It's okay… but I hope you can choose before the 1st Grading. It will be harder for us to transfer you once you've already taken the exams."

"O-okay, ma'am."

Here we go again. Why are they so desperate to transfer me? What's so special about this place?

Class ended for the day, but I still didn't understand why they were so eager to move me.

Is it because I'm the only girl? But why do even the people from Section E want me gone? Is it also because I'm a girl?

Damn it! I should've just been born a boy!
