{Chapter: 219 - Lorelei's Entrance}

The moment the makeshift pub was ripped from its foundation and hurled into the desert sky, chaos erupted among the occupants inside. Bottles shattered, men screamed, and the once rowdy bar turned into a whirlwind of dust, debris, and confusion.

Screams echoed into the dry wind as people stumbled out of the wreckage, coughing, dazed, and disoriented. Most of them didn't even know what had hit them. A few tried to run. Others simply collapsed to their knees in shock.

"Now," Aiden said, letting his hand drop to his side as the storm he summoned faded. "That's much simpler."

Beside him, May raised an eyebrow. She had seen her fair share of brutal takedowns—but this one ranked high on the efficiency scale. No casualties, complete disarmament, and minimal effort. That was Aiden's style.

Without a word, she holstered her weapon and stepped forward with practiced caution.

Aiden followed a few paces behind, his steps calm and unhurried as if he were simply taking a stroll through a ruined marketplace rather than approaching a dangerously manipulative Asgardian.

Amid the chaos stood one woman, untouched by the destruction—at least physically. Her green dress was windswept and clinging tightly to her curves, her long blonde hair tangled and tousled from the blast. One hand clutched her skirt in an attempt to maintain some dignity, while the other hung loosely by her side, fingers twitching slightly in calculated grace.

Lorelei.

Even with dust coating her heels and a fresh bruise blooming across her shoulder, she carried herself like royalty. Her gaze scanned the wreckage with mild annoyance before landing—intently—on Aiden.

Her mind raced.

He was here.

She had heard of him while imprisoned in Asgard—the mortal with divine power, the one who'd slain Malekith, who wielded magic and might in equal measure. Even behind enchanted chains and runes, rumors spread like fire in a dry forest. Now here he stood. In the flesh.

She had every reason to run—but Lorelei never ran. Not when there was a chance to turn the odds.

If I can control him, she thought, he'll be the perfect weapon. And if I can't… then perhaps I'll serve instead. Better to walk beside a god than grovel alone.

With a calculated breath, she composed herself, straightened her back, and stepped forward like a queen addressing her new court.

May immediately raised her weapon. Her instincts, honed by years of combat and covert operations, flared like sirens. This woman wasn't just a threat—she was a seductress with the ability to enslave minds.

"Stop right there!" May barked.

Lorelei barely glanced at her, her gaze dismissive—borderline amused. "How quaint."

"Don't test me," May warned, narrowing her eyes.

The Asgardian tilted her head, eyeing May with open contempt. "You must be the mortal who follows him around like a shadow. How loyal. How… expendable."

May fired.

Lorelei dodged with supernatural speed, her body twisting with fluid elegance as the bullet flew past her. She barely broke stride before May lunged.

The clash was immediate—fists and kicks meeting with bone-jarring impact. May's movements were sharp and efficient, textbook SHIELD combat. But Lorelei fought like a wildcat with strength far beyond human limits. Each blow she delivered had the weight of centuries behind it.

Looking at the two women battling it out, he can finally watch a great catfight. Aiden was grinning in amusement. May's fighting ability is highly skilled, and Lorelei's physical fitness is much stronger than May's, which puts them on equal grounds.

Lorelei's appearance was indeed very beautiful, although she is not particularly tall at 1.6 meters or 5'2 but her Legs are really slender, sexy, and very firm and the best thing is how thick they were.

Aiden watched them engage with crossed arms and a raised brow. "Okay, I was expecting a standoff—not a catfight."

May shot him a glare mid-punch. "You stay out of it!"

Lorelei, meanwhile, took every opportunity to let her skirt ride higher with every spin and kick—adding just enough flourish to each movement to keep Aiden's attention.

He smirked. "You sure she's not doing this on purpose?"

"She is," May growled.

They broke apart for a breath, circling each other. May's breathing was heavier now, her cheek scratched, her lip bleeding slightly.

Lorelei grinned and tossed a lock of golden hair over her shoulder. "You're strong—for a human. But don't think you can stop me."

"You talk too much," May replied coldly.

In a flash, May ducked and landed a solid punch to Lorelei's stomach. The Asgardian grunted, staggering back—but then something strange happened. A subtle wave of energy pulsed from her skin, a magical backlash that reversed the force. May stumbled, caught off guard by the sudden pushback, and had to roll away to regain her footing.

Lorelei chuckled darkly. "You'll find I don't play fair."

Then she turned her full attention to Aiden.

Her expression softened. Her lips curled into a seductive smile, her eyes gleaming with otherworldly allure. The air shimmered faintly around her, and her voice—when she spoke—was a melody of temptation and illusion.

"You must be Aiden. I've heard... so very much about you."

Aiden raised a brow. "Good things, I hope."

She took a few graceful steps toward him, ignoring May entirely. "Only the best. They say you're powerful beyond reckoning. Dangerous. Dominant. That even the gods flinch at your name."

"I don't know about all that," he said casually, though he didn't move.

Lorelei smiled wider. "I find power... intoxicating. And you, Aiden, are something special."

May muttered under her breath, "Don't fall for it…"

"Hehe, I also know who you are," Aiden said, his voice smooth like silk over a blade's edge. "So it's best if you don't get any ideas."

The threat in his smile was unmistakable, and Lorelei's own smirk faltered—just slightly. She was used to men being bewitched at a glance, drooling at her feet like trained pets. Aiden's resistance made her curious… and intrigued.

"Oh?" she said, tilting her head, her long red hair cascading like a waterfall down her shoulder. "Are you afraid of me, Aiden? A strong man like you… afraid of little old me?" Her tone was teasing, disappointed, even a little pouty—designed to press all the right emotional buttons.

Aiden's arms crossed over his chest, relaxed but confident. "Afraid? Not really. I just don't want to hurt you."

Lorelei's pout deepened, her full lips parting slightly as she batted her lashes. "Hurt me? A man like you? I don't believe you have it in you."

Aiden shrugged, that knowing grin tugging at the corners of his lips. "Not with just words… but if we end up exchanging blows—figuratively or otherwise—well, let's just say, you might not enjoy the outcome."

"Are you sure about that?" Lorelei asked, taking a deliberate step closer, her hips swaying with every graceful movement. "I can be very persuasive…"

Aiden's gaze swept over her, amused and assessing. "I've noticed. But if seduction is the opening move of your strategy, you might need a new playbook."

Aiden shook his head and waved his hand.

His action was very simple but shocked Lorelei. She didn't expect him to make a move, is he not tempted?

Swoosh~

The wind blew and Lorelei closed her eyes, but did not feel any danger, nor was she blown away. This wind… seems to be much gentler than she thought it would be.

Lorelei was very delighted since she doesn't seem to be hurting her. She opened her eyes and was about to speak but froze.

It's not that he was unwilling to hurt her, but he had another purpose..

Although she was not injured her skirt was blown up revealing everything below to Aiden. Was he… playing with her? How insulting!

Lorelei's hair whipped back as she instinctively pressed her hands against her skirt, trying to keep it down. She was used to men undressing her with their eyes… this one was practically doing it with a breeze.

Her eyes widened, and for the first time, a flicker of uncertainty passed across her face. "You… you're toying with me?"

"I'm warning you," Aiden said coolly. His palm ignited with a swirl of orange flame, the heat radiating in the dry air around them. "Next time, I won't be so gentle."

Lorelei blinked—was that a blush, or just the firelight dancing across her porcelain skin? Still, she quickly recovered, flashing a honeyed smile. "No need to be so dramatic. I didn't come here to fight you."

"Could've fooled me," Aiden muttered, letting the flames recede.

"I came to offer a deal," she said, voice velvet-smooth. "You're building something powerful here. The War Legion, right? I've heard the whispers. A rising force that even the gods are watching."

Aiden's eyes narrowed slightly. "You've done your homework."

Lorelei chuckled, the sound low and melodic. "Of course. If I'm going to join a team, I want to know the benefits. And the company." She took a slow step forward, then another. "You know my powers. I can control minds, bring entire armies to their knees. Doesn't that sound useful to a man like you?"

"I also know you've left chaos and broken kingdoms in your wake," he countered.

"True." She didn't even try to deny it. "But with a leader like you? I might just behave." Her gaze met his, unwavering. "Let Asgard take me back and I'm locked in chains again. But with you? I could be more."

Aiden studied her silently, weighing every word, every twitch of her expression.

"You really think you could follow orders?" he finally asked, skeptical.

"I don't mind following," Lorelei said, her smile curling at the edges. "As long as the leader is… worth it."

A beat passed between them—tension and chemistry sparking in the desert air.

"Well," Aiden said, slowly turning away with a grin, "we'll see if you're as useful as you claim. Just don't try to pull any of that charm magic on me again."

Lorelei's eyes twinkled. "No promises. But I'll try to keep my hands—and my influence—to myself. Unless invited."

Lorelei hesitated to move since she can't guarantee Aiden wouldn't hurt her. She needed an opportunity to get closer to Aiden so she put a smile on her face and said "You're trying to catch me right? I can go with you but I have conditions!"

"I don't think you're in the position to negotiate," Aiden said faintly.

Lorelei disapproved with a smile "You know my ability and I'm very useful. As long as you don't let Asgard take me back then I'm willing to follow you

Aiden raised an eyebrow, amused. "You're going to make things very complicated, aren't you?"

She giggled, almost innocently. "Oh, darling. I am complication."
