Evelyn's golden eyes narrowed sharply, like a predator sensing weakness, her posture straightening. "She said you slept with her, didn't you?"
Alex was shocked beyond words, eyes snapping back to hers, widening in stunned disbelief as color drained from his sharp features. He shot to his feet halfway. "Why—? Did she say something to you?!"
Evelyn smirked faintly, a sly, triumphant glint in her eyes as she tilted her head. "So I was right, huh."
Alex stammered, face flushing, hands gesturing wildly. "No… I mean… ye… No! No, that's not—"
Evelyn waved a hand dismissively, chuckling. "Relax, I'm not interrogating you like some royal inquisitor."
Alex took a deep, steadying breath, shoulders slumping in defeat as he sank back onto the bed. "Yes, we slept together. Passionate night, no regrets on my end. And it seems like she didn't want to meet me after that—avoiding me like the plague."
