Reiji dropped the ice sword. It shattered into diamond dust against the concrete floor.
He cracked his knuckles. Then his neck.
[System Override: Limiter Disengaged.][Combat Style: DRAGON (Brawler Focus).][Effect: Strength +50%, Pain Threshold: MAX, Technique: Brutal.]
A violet aura flared around him, heavy and suffocating. It wasn't the clean, sharp energy of a hero. It was the dirty, oppressive heat of a street fight.
"You called me a germ," Reiji growled, walking toward the four-armed monster. "Let me show you what a virus looks like."
"Die," Overhaul commanded.
Two of his extra arms slammed into the ground.
RUMBLE.
Massive spikes of concrete shot up, aiming to skewer Reiji.
Reiji didn't teleport. He didn't dodge.
He punched the air.
BOOM!
A shockwave of raw Hellfire and kinetic force shattered the spikes before they could touch him. He charged through the debris, ignoring the shrapnel cutting his skin.
Overhaul's eyes widened behind his fused mask. "You—"
Reiji was inside his guard.
"Tiger Drop!"
Reiji drove a fist into Overhaul's solar plexus. The impact was so heavy it lifted the villain off his feet.
"Gah!"
Overhaul tried to grab Reiji with his upper arms to disassemble him.
Reiji didn't retreat. He grabbed Overhaul's wrists.
[Skill: Limb Destruction.]
"Break."
SNAP.
Reiji twisted his body, using Overhaul's own momentum to snap the radius and ulna of the villain's upper right arm.
Overhaul roared—a distorted sound of two voices screaming in unison. He reformed the arm instantly, spikes erupting from his shoulder to push Reiji back.
But Reiji was relentless. He grabbed a chunk of broken concrete the size of a manhole cover.
WHAM!
He smashed it over Overhaul's head.
WHAM!
He hit him again.
"Barbarian!" Overhaul shrieked, exploding the ground around him to force Reiji back. "You fight like a beast! No plan! No theory! Just violence!"
Reiji skidded back, panting. His knuckles were bloody. His health was dropping, but his adrenaline was capping out.
"Theory is for scientists," Reiji spat blood onto the floor. "I'm just the guy who takes out the trash."
Overhaul stood up. The damage Reiji dealt was healing, but the mental toll was mounting. The villain was furious.
"I am done playing with you."
Overhaul raised all four arms. The entire room began to dismantle. The ceiling, the walls, the floor—everything turned into a swirling vortex of stone spikes.
"Mass Disassembly."
It wasn't an attack. It was an extermination. There was nowhere to dodge.
Reiji looked at Aizawa, who was barely conscious. He looked at Kirishima, who was shielding Mirio. He looked at Eri.
'I can teleport out,' Reiji thought. 'But they can't.'
He gritted his teeth. He had to tank it. He had to hold the line until—
CRASH!!!
The ceiling directly above them didn't just break; it vaporized.
A streak of green lightning shot down from the heavens, smashing through the swirling vortex of spikes.
"SMASH!!"
BOOM!
The shockwave cleared the room instantly. Dust billowed out.
Standing in the center of the crater, green electricity crackling around him like a storm, was Midoriya Izuku.
His costume was torn. His eyes were glowing with a terrifying intensity.
"Reiji!" Midoriya shouted, looking around frantically. "Are you okay?!"
Reiji slumped against a wall, grinning.
"Took you long enough, hero," Reiji wheezed.
Overhaul stared at the new arrival. "Another one? How many of you insects are there?"
Midoriya looked at Eri. He saw her terror. He saw the injuries on Mirio and Kirishima.
"Chisaki..." Midoriya's voice trembled with rage.
Overhaul moved to grab Eri again. "Return her to me."
Reiji saw the movement.
"Midoriya!" Reiji roared, grabbing Eri by the waist. "CATCH!"
He didn't ask. He threw the girl through the air, straight at Midoriya.
Overhaul lunged to intercept. "NO!"
Reiji pointed a finger.
[Skill: Hellfire Blast.]
A fireball hit Overhaul in the face, blinding him for a split second.
Midoriya caught Eri. He held her tight to his chest.
"I won't let you go," Midoriya whispered to her. "Not again!"
Eri clutched his costume. Her horn began to glow blindingly bright.
Zzzzt... ZZZZT!
Golden energy erupted from the girl. Midoriya gasped as he felt his body changing. His broken bones healed instantly. His fatigue vanished.
The power of One For All surged, unchecked.
10%. 20%. 50%.
[Energy Reading: INFINITE 100%.]
Midoriya's hair spiked up. The green lightning turned into a blinding aura. He floated off the ground, the sheer pressure of his power cracking the air itself.
Overhaul reformed his face, staring up at the glowing boy.
"Rewind..." Overhaul realized. "She's rewinding his damage faster than he can break himself. He's using 100% of his power continuously."
Overhaul grew even larger, pulling more matter from the walls to become a towering kaiju of stone and flesh.
"IT DOESN'T MATTER! I WILL DISASSEMBLE THE SKY IF I HAVE TO!"
Overhaul lashed out with a hand the size of a truck.
Midoriya vanished.
BOOM!
He reappeared in the air, kicking Overhaul's giant arm into dust.
"Reiji!" Midoriya yelled, his voice echoing with power. "Can you move?!"
Reiji pushed himself off the wall. His "Dragon" style was still active. He felt the static from Midoriya's power raising the hair on his arms.
"I can always move," Reiji smirked.
"Then keep him pinned!" Midoriya commanded. "I'm going to finish this!"
"With pleasure!"
Reiji summoned his chain.
[Style: Scorpion.][Skill: Infernal Chains (Max Output).]
Five fiery chains erupted from Reiji's back. They shot across the room, wrapping around Overhaul's massive stone limbs.
"GET DOWN HERE!"
Reiji pulled.
The giant monster stumbled.
"Get off me!" Overhaul roared, thrashing.
"Midoriya, NOW!" Reiji screamed, straining against the weight.
Midoriya was already in the air, high above the hole in the ceiling. He curled into a ball, the energy of One For All screaming like a jet engine.
"ONE FOR ALL 100%..."
Midoriya dove.
Overhaul looked up. He tried to raise his arms to block, but Reiji's chains held them tight.
"Move! Why won't you move?!" Overhaul panicked.
Reiji laughed, blood dripping from his mouth. "Because you're in my domain now, Chisaki!"
Midoriya slammed into Overhaul.
"...FULL COWL: MANCHESTER SMASH!!"
KABOOOOM!
The impact didn't just break Overhaul. It broke the underground base.
The force drove Overhaul's body through the floor, then the next floor, then the bedrock.
A massive pillar of air pressure shot upward, blasting Reiji, Aizawa, Kirishima, and Mirio out of the hole and into the sky.
[Location: Surface Level – Shie Hassaikai Courtyard]
Ryukyu and Uraraka were fighting the remaining Yakuza when the ground exploded.
RUMBLE.
A massive geyser of dust and debris erupted from the main house.
"What is that?!" Uraraka shielded her eyes.
From the dust, Reiji landed on a roof tile, sliding to a halt. He was battered, bruised, and smoking.
Midoriya landed next, holding Eri. He was glowing like a star.
And below them, in a crater that had turned the courtyard into a canyon, lay the shattered remains of the monster Overhaul.
Midoriya landed softly. The lightning faded. Eri slumped against him, unconscious from exhaustion.
Reiji hopped down, limping slightly. He walked to the edge of the crater.
Overhaul was lying there. Separated from Nemoto. Both arms broken. Mask shattered.
He was trying to crawl.
"It's... not... over..." Overhaul wheezed. "The cure..."
Reiji slid down into the crater. He stood over the fallen Yakuza boss.
He deactivated his System combat mode.
"You're right," Reiji said, looking down at the man who had tortured a child for years. "The cure is here."
Reiji raised his boot.
"It's called a prison cell."
THUD.
He kicked Overhaul in the face, knocking him out cold.

Reiji let out a long breath, sitting down on a piece of rubble.
