Chapter 13 - The Scarlet Maple Joins Class 2-B

Sonoko blinked in confusion."Roaring Moon? What kind of Pokémon is that?"

For most children born into powerful families, knowledge of legendary or rare species was practically drilled into them since childhood. The fact that Sonoko Suzuki had no idea what a Roaring Moon was only shown one thing—her parents must have spoiled her far beyond reason.

Momiji glanced at Sonoko with mild surprise, her crimson eyes flashing. She worried that Kaisen might not know either, so she quickly explained before he could ask,"Roaring Moon is said to be an ancient form of Salamence—Dragon and Dark type. It rarely shows itself and is known to be savage and uncontrollable."

Shinomiya Kaguya nodded, adjusting her ribbon with elegance."Yes, a Dragon and Dark-type Pokémon… a fitting match for Chika, considering her unpredictable nature."

"That's right!" Fujiwara Chika bounced on her toes, her twin pink curls swaying. Her bright blue eyes sparkled as she clasped her hands together."So, what do you think, President? Just help me, okay?"

Kaisen smiled helplessly. "Alright, alright."He liked her enthusiasm—and honestly, he was fond of the Paradox Pokémon too."But… do you even have a clue where to start?"

"Huh?" Chika blinked.

"My tracking ability works better for specific signals, not wide-area searches," Kaisen said, scratching the back of his head.

"Oh, I see~ Then I'll just ask my dad's connections to help!" Chika said brightly, not missing a beat.

Kaisen couldn't help but chuckle. "Figures."

Glancing up at the classroom clock, he realized time had flown. The morning sun now painted soft gold across the room's edge.

"Alright, ladies," Kaisen said, slinging his bag over his shoulder with a grin, "it's time for class. See you later, girlfriends~"

"G-Girlfriends!?" The words detonated like a firecracker.

For a moment, Shinomiya Kaguya, Momiji, and Sonoko all looked at one another, each blushing furiously—but none willing to back down.Their eyes gleamed with the same fierce determination.

Coexistence might be possible… but the position of main wife is mine!

Meanwhile, Chika's jaw dropped."G-Girlfriends!? P-President, as student council president, how can you openly break the no-romance rule!?" She flailed dramatically. "This is against regulations! Waaaaah!"

"Did you just realize that now?" Kaisen deadpanned.

The other three sighed in unison.

Only then did it dawn on Chika that she was the only one who hadn't confessed yet.Her eyes widened, and her face flushed a deep pink.

"President, I…!"

Kaisen turned toward her gently, noticing the mix of panic and affection in her eyes.He raised a hand and softly patted her head.

"You don't have to rush into this, Chika," he said warmly. "Think about what you feel first. Though… I do like you very much."

"Eh…?" Her voice came out barely a whisper. "O-okay…"

Her heart was pounding like crazy. But after a pause, she clenched her fists and spoke up with sudden resolve, "Then… Chika likes the president too! And Kaguya, and Sonoko, and the new girl, Momiji-Chan! Chika wants to stay with everyone forever!"

Kaisen smiled, amused by her pure-hearted honesty."That's fine by me."

Chika blushed fiercely, then—just like the others—rose on tiptoe and planted a quick kiss on Kaisen's cheek before running off giggling.

The room went silent.

"…Just like that?" murmured Kaguya, frozen between disbelief and indignation. Her aristocratic pride twitched violently; after all, she'd spent days building up courage, and Chika had done it in seconds.

Momiji, however, saw things differently. She folded her arms, smiling with subtle cunning. If they hadn't opened up earlier, they'd have been stuck in awkward limbo forever. But now that lines had been crossed—alliances could shift.

She could already sense Kaguya and Sonoko's quiet hostility toward her.So be it. If they wanted to unite, she'd help Kaisen weather their pressure—and win the others' loyalty first.

Charm is the best armor, she thought confidently.

By the time the chaos settled, Sonoko and Chika were a blushing mess. Both realized how impulsive they'd been… but neither regretted it.

Especially Sonoko. Her heart fluttered in ways she'd never felt before.

When she caught her reflection in the hallway mirror, she couldn't help smiling. She looked… happy.

"Wahh! Too embarrassing!" Sonoko squeaked and sprinted out of the student council room, face red as a Torchic.

Kaguya lingered behind for a moment, stealing a final glance at Kaisen and Momiji. Her lips parted—hesitant—but she couldn't quite speak.

Finally, with a deep breath, she managed,"Goodbye, Kaisen-kun."

Her voice trembled as she turned to leave, almost tripping over her own feet.

Momiji chuckled softly once Kaguya disappeared."Kaguya-chan, you're surprisingly cute when you're flustered."

She brushed a loose strand of black hair from her shoulder—one that the breeze had carried from Kaguya's head."See you later, Kaisen~"

Before leaving, Momiji tiptoed once more and leaned in close, whispering playfully by his ear before darting off, cheeks flushed and heart pounding.

Later that day, Kaisen returned to class, where Sonoko and Ran were already seated.Sonoko, having put her headband back on, stiffened the instant she saw him.Her face turned red, and she immediately looked away.

"Sonoko, you're acting weird today…" Ran said curiously, tilting her head. She didn't suspect anything at all—after all, she'd known Sonoko for years.

"Wait… don't tell me," Ran gasped. "You fell for another bad boy, didn't you?"

"Eh!? N-no!" Sonoko squeaked, waving her hands frantically.

Ran sighed, exasperated. "Sonoko, how many times has this happened? Every time you say it's love, the guy ends up being a jerk. Please tell me this one's not another heartbreaker."

Sonoko blushed harder. If only Ran knew who she was talking about.

Meanwhile, in the Shinomiya mansion, Kaguya sat on her couch, legs crossed elegantly as Hayasaka Ai—disguised as a blonde gal—delivered her daily report.

"Hayasaka, the president and I are officially together," Kaguya said calmly, though her heart was beating like a drum. "But the process was… complicated."

"I know, miss," Hayasaka replied dryly. "Maybe you could invite him somewhere this weekend? The amusement park, perhaps."

"Hm?" Kaguya tilted her head.

"The president recently convinced Kudo-kun to go there, which means he probably likes the place. It might help him relax," Hayasaka explained.

"I see… Good work, Hayasaka. Then I'll book the entire park."

"…I'd advise against that," Hayasaka sighed. "That'll ruin the atmosphere."

"Then what do you suggest?"

"Cut the crowd in half."

"Deal."

Hayasaka pinched the bridge of her nose. "You really don't do things halfway, do you?"

Later that afternoon, Kaisen's class door slid open.

Pink-haired Kirisu Mafuyu entered, her serious eyes scanning the room.Behind her walked a girl with shoulder-length maple-colored hair, her expression calm and mature, her uniform perfectly neat.

"Everyone," Kirisu said sternly, "this is your new transfer student—Ōoka Momiji. She'll be joining Class 2-B starting today."

The class instantly erupted.

"Whoa, she's gorgeous!"

"I declare the school beauty rankings updated—again!"

"She's on par with Yukinoshita Yukino and Mei-senpai!"

Even the girls looked uneasy; the beauty pressure in this room was now unreal.

Yukino sighed, Ran blinked, and Mei simply looked unimpressed.

Meanwhile, Kaisen, sitting near the window, chuckled softly. So this was how Momiji wanted to make her entrance—dramatic, confident, and utterly unforgettable
