"Sit down," she said, her voice calm and not loud, yet clear enough to reach him without effort.
Ragnarok99 did not move, his hands staying flat on the table, shoulders tight, and gaze fixed on the clearing ahead as the muscles in his jaw shifted slightly while he exhaled through his nose.
"I've been holding myself together since the street," he replied, his tone low and controlled, though the strain behind it was obvious. "I'm not sitting this one out."
Sophie kept her eyes on him as she answered, "This is not about anger. It is about qualifications. One wrong move and we would be out."
"I know," Ragnarok99 said without raising his voice. "That is exactly why I'm going."
Cassie glanced between them, her fingers tightening slightly against the side of her chair, while Bunny went still with her cup held tightly in both hands, her eyes fixed on Ragnarok99.
