Chapter 457: Chu Caiyi's Letter
Wendao Academy, on Miaomiao Mountain.
The atmosphere remained as tranquil and leisurely as ever.
After challenging the academy for several days, Half-Saint Benlei and Half-Saint Jinchi had both chosen to enter seclusion.
Chu Feng spent his days fishing, reading, and occasionally guiding his disciples in cultivation.
That evening, just as Chu Feng was preparing for dinner, a familiar voice echoed in his mind.
"Host's student, Half-Saint Benlei, has comprehended two points of Dao Truth. Host receives a tenfold reward: Dao Truth +20."
So soon?
Chu Feng hadn't expected that after only half a month in seclusion, Benlei would already make such progress.
Beside him, Bingyan noticed the hint of puzzlement on Chu Feng's face and asked softly, "Husband, what's wrong?"
Chu Feng shook his head. "It's nothing. It just seems Benlei has broken through."
"Oh?"
Bingyan paused for a moment before smiling. "That's good news."
Chu Feng nodded. "Indeed, it is. Let's wait for him here and have dinner together when he arrives."
Everyone agreed and sat quietly, waiting.
Before long, Half-Saint Benlei arrived at the main courtyard, his face full of joy.
Upon entering, he bowed deeply toward Chu Feng. "Student Benlei greets Master."
"At ease."
Chu Feng smiled. "It seems your journey to Miaomiao Mountain has been fruitful."
Benlei replied, "All thanks to Master's guidance in the Dao. With Uncle Jinchi leading the disciples to spar with the other elders, I was able to gain much insight in a short time."
Chu Feng said casually, "No need for thanks. Come, join us for dinner."
"Yes, Master."
Half-Saint Benlei quickly took his seat and joined the others in drinking.
After several rounds of wine, Chu Feng asked, "Benlei, what are your plans next?"
"Master, I intend to travel the world and continue cultivating. Staying in seclusion alone makes it difficult to reach higher realms."
Through this experience, Benlei had come to realize that only by becoming stronger could he truly protect his descendants.
Chu Feng nodded approvingly. "A wise decision. I support you. Before you depart from the mountain, come see me once more."
"Yes, Master."
Benlei responded respectfully.
As the group continued their cheerful conversation, a familiar voice suddenly came from outside the courtyard.
"Disciple greets Elder Chu."
Everyone turned toward the doorway and saw Elder Xiaobai of the External Affairs Hall standing there.
He was an old acquaintance of Chu Feng and Wang Baole—once known as Deacon Bai. A year ago, he had broken through to the Path Union Realm, and his title had changed from deacon to elder.
To distinguish him from his senior family members, everyone now referred to him as Elder Xiaobai.
Chu Feng smiled. "Brother Bai, how many times have I told you? There's no need to call me Elder."
Elder Xiaobai replied earnestly, "Elder Chu, etiquette cannot be neglected."
"Come in and drink with us. Benlei has recently made some fine progress," Chu Feng said, signaling to Chen Qianqian.
Catching his meaning, Chen Qianqian immediately went to fetch another set of dishes and utensils.
Elder Xiaobai bowed slightly. "Thank you, Elder Chu. But before that, I have a matter to discuss with Junior Sister Caiyi."
"Very well," Chu Feng replied, not asking further as he continued drinking with Half-Saint Benlei.
Chu Caiyi suddenly stood up, her eyes filled with hope as she looked at Elder Xiaobai. "Uncle-Master, have you found my two children?"
The lively atmosphere of the banquet fell silent in an instant.
Everyone turned their eyes toward Chu Caiyi.
Bai Qian asked curiously, "Senior Sister, you have children?"
Chu Caiyi nodded, then knelt down before Chu Feng. "Master, this disciple has hidden something from you before. Please forgive me."
Chu Feng smiled faintly. "It's not a big matter. But why didn't you mention it earlier?"
Chu Caiyi replied softly, "Master, at that time I had no place to call home, and I dared not hope to ever see my children again. I could only keep getting stronger. It wasn't until last year that I decided to search for them, so I asked my senior brothers from the External Affairs Hall to help."
In her mind, it was a small matter, not something worth troubling her revered master with.
Chu Feng's expression remained gentle. "That's your personal affair. I won't interfere — handle it as you see fit."
Elder Xiaobai handed Chu Caiyi a jade slip, speaking apologetically. "Junior Sister Chu, this contains the location of your children. You only mentioned searching for family, so I didn't look too deeply into it and simply ordered my men to investigate."
Chu Caiyi smiled faintly. "Senior Brother need not blame yourself. This was my own decision. Knowing where they are is enough for me."
Just then, Chen Qianqian walked out from the kitchen with a new set of dishes. Seeing the emotion on Chu Caiyi's face, she asked instinctively, "Senior Sister, what's wrong?"
Chu Caiyi's lips curved into a trembling smile, her eyes glistening. "I finally found my children."
"Ah?"
Chen Qianqian blinked, murmuring to herself, "I feel like I missed something important."
Chu Feng immediately said, "You little girl, sit back down. Always gossiping about everything."
"Oh."
Feeling a bit sulky, Chen Qianqian returned to her seat, where Bai Qian leaned over and began whispering to her. Soon, Chen Qianqian's expression shifted in surprise as she listened.
The banquet continued, but Chu Caiyi quietly excused herself and left early.
By the following noon, Chu Caiyi came to bid farewell to Chu Feng.
Chu Feng knew she was going to find her children and agreed without hesitation.
Just as she was about to depart, Chen Qianqian and Bai Qian suddenly leapt forward together. "Master, can we accompany Senior Sister on her journey?"
"You two little girls—why are you trying to stir up trouble again?" Chu Feng said helplessly.
Bai Qian quickly argued, "I have a mount. It'll help Senior Sister Caiyi reach her destination much faster."
Chu Feng's eyes flickered with thought before he turned toward Chu Caiyi.
"This matter is up to you, Caiyi."
The two young girls instantly crowded around Chu Caiyi, looking at her with eager eyes. "Senior Sister, may we go?"
Chu Caiyi hesitated only for a moment, then nodded. "Then I'll trouble you two junior sisters."
She hadn't intended to bother anyone, but having her junior sisters accompany her brought a warmth to her heart.
"Thank you, Senior Sister!"
The two girls beamed with excitement, thrilled at the chance to go out and play.
"Ahem."
Chu Feng deliberately cleared his throat, drawing their attention back to him.
The two girls immediately straightened up, their playful smiles vanishing into solemn expressions.
"Once you're outside, you must obey Caiyi's instructions. If you don't, forget about ever leaving the mountain again."
Knowing their mischievous natures, Chu Feng's tone grew serious.
"Yes, Master!"
The two girls nodded rapidly.
Chu Feng said nothing more. "Caiyi, you may depart."
"Master, farewell."
After bowing to Chu Feng, Chu Caiyi and the two girls turned and left together…
