Within minutes, the tide shifted.
"Mm..." One shadow clone stretched. "That's about enough. We'll leave the small fry to you guys."
"Yeah." Another yawned. "Dealing with them one by one would be too much trouble."
"Finally we can disperse!" A third sounded relieved. "Thank god!"

White smoke bloomed across the battlefield as shadow clones vanished.
Marines stared at each other.

"CHARGE!"
Doberman's voice came hoarse. Raw. "For White Dragon Admiral—eliminate all pirates!"
He'd been saved at the critical moment. Shadow clone appearing just as a blade descended toward his neck.
Best way to repay him?
Kill more pirates. Achieve greater merit.
"CHARGE!" Other voices joined. "For White Dragon Admiral!"
"Pirates, DIE!"
"For White Dragon Admiral—VICTORY!"
Morale exploded.
Confidence surged higher than before.
With such an incredible Admiral...

Kaido's Horror
"It's not the Clone Fruit!"
Kaido's expression turned grim.
"The Clone Fruit couldn't have such terrifying combat power." His voice came strained. "What the hell IS this thing!?"
Kai looked at him with mocking amusement.
"I never said it was the Clone Fruit." His tone stayed light. "You said that yourself."
He paused.
"This is called the Multiple Shadow Clone Technique." The words came casual. "Naturally, you've never seen it before."
"Multiple Shadow Clone Technique!?"
Kaido's face showed extreme wariness.
"A move you developed from the Divine Tree Fruit, right?" His voice turned urgent. "What kind of Devil Fruit IS this Divine Tree Fruit!?"
"Uh..."
Kai felt dumbfounded.
Didn't expect him to take that joke seriously.
Can't exactly say I was messing around now.
Even facing Kaido, admitting the lie felt too embarrassing.
That would be slapping my own face.
After a long moment, unable to think of an explanation, Kai waved his hand impatiently.
"You don't need to know about that."
Ultimate Contempt
Kai didn't realize how his evasive words sounded.
To Kaido, they represented the ultimate contempt.
So dismissive he won't even reveal his abilities!?

Anger flashed in Kaido's eyes.
A low growl emerged from his throat.

He charged toward Kai.

Confusion flashed in Kai's eyes.

Kaido's laugh came maniacal.
"Having consumed the Demon Fruit, I'm a true demon dragon!" His voice blazed with savage pride. "As a demon, how could I possibly die!?"
He spread his arms wide.
"Right now, my entire body has become demon energy—any physical or elemental attacks are completely useless against me!"
No worry about Kai's attacks.
I know how abnormal this form is.
Years ago, escaping Mary Geoise, he'd accidentally broken a pillar.
The blonde-suited Five Elder had personally acted to capture him.
That terrifyingly suffocating Haki...
Even remembering it made Kaido's heart turn cold.
But even HE couldn't do anything to my demon form.
Kaido admitted Kai was stronger than himself.
But stronger than that Five Elder?
Impossible.
Even if he was that strong—

Still can't do anything to me.

Kai's expression stayed calm.
"Seems you're quite confident in your abilities." His tone carried amusement. "Let's see if you can still laugh in a moment..."
His Rinnegan spun faster.
